World Series Game Six

83-55-2 +35,290

St Louis Cardinals at Boston Red Sox
This World Series has been far from sensational from a betting stand point and this being a elimination game with Boston on the verge of winning it all this could be the last posted play for this season.  The post season story right now is Big Papi's bat carrying the Red Sox and that maybe how it's going to end. But anything can and will happen in Baseball. The featured starters tonight is young Michael Wacha, 7-1, doing it all in play off games, but he too gave it up to Ortiz. Luckily the Cards came back in that game to give Wacha the win. St Louis like Boston is very tough coming off a loss, 50-22 and 84-45 against right handed pitching.Going for Boston is veteran John Lackey. He too is pitching well and you could say he is rising to the occasion. This is a closeout game John would love to have before ending his career. This should be well rounded game and I don't expect both of these pitchers to factor into the outcome. Looking for improved scoring tonight and taking the Over.

World Series Game Five

 83-54-2 +36,500

These picks are becoming bit neutral lacking sizable advantage. We did take the Under 7.5 yesterday for a win, but that was a members only pick and did not make the blog. The blog has taken set back for the World Series, but we will try to right the ship with tonight's match up between Adam Wainwright for St Louis and Jon Lester for Boston. Adam was awful at Boston in his last start, but it wasn't just Adam the whole Cardinals team looked out of sync. Now that's past the errors has worked both ways and these two teams have been alternating wins and losses. Tonight Wainwright is in a bounce back spot at home and Lester is in a position to regress. We'll lay the favorite tonight.

World Series Game Three

83-53-2 +37,500

Greetings to all. This series is all tied up 1-1 and it's any body's game to lose. The home field at St Louis will be key to these young red bird pitchers. If your Boston you want a battle tested veteran to take the road. Who else fits that mold than Jake Peavy. He is past his prime, but still a warrior he will bring it on tonight. Joe Kelly for the Cardinals is one of the young guns looking to etch his name in history. I do like Kelly at home and both pitchers are primed to have a good start in this spot. I will give the edge to the Red Sox as this line has reversed course from the opening. The Red Sox are 24-9 last 33 coming off a game scoring 2 runs or less, 8-2 in last 10 games off 2 runs or less. Kelly and the Cardinals are 1-5 when opponent is off a game scoring 2 runs or less. Behind the plate today Dana DeMuth supporting Boston wins to the tune of 17-4 and St Louis is 4-10. Backing the visiting Boston along with Dana.

No fricken way! Craig was out at home. 4-5 St Louis ruling was obstruction by 3rd baseman Dustin Pedroia on Allen Craig. The call was made by our guy Dana behind the plate. What a double cross.

ALCS Gane Six

83-51-2 +39,540

Last night's pick with L.A. Dodgers went down in flames. It was Clayton Kershaw who crumbled on the big stage. Didn't see that one... I guess I'll dust off and move on.

Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox
Very tough pitchers going with Tigers money pitcher Max Scherzer and Boston's money pitcher Clay Buchholtz. We were on the winning side with Boston in the first match up, but we were lucky with Big Papi's grand salami to set up the late inning win. Buchholtz, who has been great, is giving up the long ball and getting hit. These numbers have not come down, but moved slightly higher in past 3 October games. He may recover and Scherzer has problem getting win's at Fenway. However Tigers bats are looking livelier and Detroit has been excellent road dog with Scherzer on the mound. We'll take two spots on this Tigers pick.

NLCS Game Six

83-50-2 +40,830

Los Angeles Dodgers at St Louis Cardinals
We were on the wrong side with this match up earlier in this series, but I still like all the reasons I gave first time around. The Cardinals are getting some attention from handicapping boards and you know the players are always on the look out for a good under dog. In their last match up St Louis starter Michael Wacha broke his trend matching pitch for pitch against Clayton Kershaw. Wacha has been impressive in post season, however this is elimination game with season on the line who else would you want to give the ball to? Clayton Kershaw is the superstar who is suppose to shine in these spot. The Dodgers are 8-2 in last 10 games with Total set at 6.5 or lower. 28-11 in last 39 road games against right handed pitching, 45-21 following a win, 35-17 in last 52 road games and the Dodgers are 11-4 when Kershaw starts on the road. St Louis also has impressive trend of their own, but this match tonight looks to play out like it's scripted. Go with the big gun Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers to edge the Cardinals at Bush Stadium to force game 7.

ALCS Game Five

82-50-2 +39,330

Boston Red Sox at Detroit Tigers
The Tigers exploded against Jake Peavy and Sox putting up 7 runs, 5 in the second, and defeating the visiting Boston 7-3. The urgency to take the home game is mounting and Leyland looks to Anibal Sanchez who was dazzling in game 1 at Boston. That was the game he no hit Boston for 6 inning then 4 relievers followed to blank the Sox 1-0 and though Jon Lester was solid he gave up 1 run took the loss. This time around Lester is not as good on the road and the Tigers are eating up lefties at home. The advantage appears to be with the Tigers. However we will take the small road under dog Boston. Anibal Sanchez  is no doubt pitching well, but coming off that perfect performance I do see some regression. Boston is also at their toughest coming off a loss and they still have late inning advantage.

NLCS Game Four

 81-50-2 +38,330

St Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers
Elimination game for L.A. at home. Say it isn't so! The Dodgers with their amazing second half run could come to an end today. This is the rematch of series game one and if you'd recall that game Zack Greinke was rock solid, but shoddy L.A. defense and lack luster offense lead to the Dodgers loss. Los Angeles dismal with runners in scoring position, but they do have one of their big gun Zack Greinke taking the mound. Joe Kelly is pitching well and away numbers are even better. However he has dropped his last two road starts and the Cardinals are not supporting his road starts. Looking for Los Angeles to come out aggressive. Greinke to hold down the Cardinals.

ALCS Game Three

80-50-2 +36,860

Boston Red Sox at Detroit Tigers
Here we are at Comerica Park or maybe at Nemo's Bar parking lot. No matter, grab yourself a cold one and order some food from the bar, get your seating area ready, we're getting ready to rock this game.

Boston and Detroit all knotted up 1-1. Today two veteran pitchers take the mound. The home team will send Justin "Mr. October" Verlander. He has been incredible in his starts, four no run games in a row striking out 10 plus hitters per game, the go to pitcher for Jim Leyland. Visiting Red Sox will go with John Lackey. The big Texan is pitching his best game since 2007. John last pitched Oct.5th against Tampa getting the win 7-4, however all 4 runs were his and only lasted 1 batter into the 5th. That was the second consecutive non quality start for Lackey.  It seems Detroit holds the card today with Verlander going and Lackey taking the third spot after extended rest. But I am going against Verlander and the Tigers. Verlander despite off the chart performance has only one win while pitching 4 no run games. The Bull Pen has been Tigers Achilles heel and Justin Verlander peaked with 8 inning performance. The Red Sox are 20-7 after opponent scores 5 runs or more, 5-2 away against team with .600 or better home win percentage, 9-1 as playoff Under dog of +110 to +150. Detroit Verlander 2-10 in last 12 starts, 2-6 as post season favorites and 1-6 in Verlander starts after scoring 5 runs or more.

NLCS Game Three

79-50-2 +35,710

Ladies, fellas, the Red Sox answered at Fenway in classic October fashion. It's great for the fans, but we're not in it for the adrenaline so let's see if we can get a easier one tonight. You know it's never easy.

St Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers
L.A. is on the ropes. The meat of Dodgers line up looked pitiful in their last game against Michael Wacha that ended 1-0 loss at Bush Stadium. Los Angeles burned their dual aces, Greinke and Kershaw, and now rely on third spot starter Hyun Jin Ryu. He was a bit shaky in his last start against Atlanta, 13-6 Dodgers win, Ryu gave up 4 of Atlanta's 6 runs in the first 3 innings. Also considering L.A. not scoring against St Louis pitching is alarming especially with Adam Wainwright  who has given up only 2 runs in last 3 starts dating back to Sep. 28th. Matter of fact Wainwright starts have the Cardinals winning 7 games in a row. However Los Angeles back on their home turf at Chavez Ravine with biggest Korean population in the U.S. Ryu looks poised to get back in form. Wainwright is a warrior on the road with the Red Birds going 12-5, better then 11-6 at home, but he is coming off a 9 inning performance and is in a spot to regress. Ryu on the other hand is in a bounce back spot, 11-5 team record at home, with the crowd behind him. Although I don't like first year pitchers on big stage this kid is not really a rookie, similar to other pitchers arriving from Japan and Taiwan, also St Louis not that familiar with him. The Dodgers have already beaten Wainwright and company at Dodgers stadium. Look to stop the slide.

Detroit Tigers at Boston Red Sox
Chilly October game fitting of championship series. This raucous crowd was silenced by Sanches and company of Detroit relievers shutting down the Red Sox offense to take care of business in game one 1-0. Jim Leyland knows he can cripple Boston Red Sox by taking this game in Fenway. He will send their top money pitcher in Max Scherzer, 22-3, 10-2 away, no other Detroit pitcher has made more money. Catching Boston after a shut out, last time it happened was interestingly against Detroit on Sept. 2nd, it turned out to be a low scoring Boston win. Max is definitely a Under pitcher on the road. Clay Buchholtz, like other Boston pitchers, is tough at home and pitching over 60% Under. Boston is one of the best bounce back team in baseball. We look for a tight game, home win for Boston.

Los Angeles Dodgers at St Louis Cardinals
The Dodgers are hurting now, Rameirz got drilled last night and he's not 100% game time decision.  Ethier is strained and he's out, but we do have the best pitcher in baseball going for the Dodgers in Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw performs better on the road and he is in a spot to improve.  The trend on Under has been undermined by the low number set for this game at 6.  St Louis going with Michael Wacha, another young gun, pitching well down the stretch, but I don't like him at home and we will look for Los Angeles to knot this series.

The road to National League Champion always seems to go thru St Louis and I don't think it's being lucky all the time. Joe Kelly will pitch for the Cardinals, 10-5 with 2.69 ERA, worthy of stepping up against the Dodgers. He is coming off a ND Cardinals loss at Pittsburgh, but throwing minimal pitches with offensive changes taking him out in short innings. Expect more of the same  with Kelly. The Dodgers will go with Zack Greinke, 15-4 with 2.63 ERA, coming off two losses in a row and in a spot to shine. Got the line early on the over night. L.A. Dodgers to take game one.

Another elimination game and the right to play the Red Sox in waiting...

Sup people? Stay on your toes we have reverse line movement. Oakland started out as a short home dog, now -106 / Detroit -104 at 5Dimes. You need to hit that baby. Justin Verlander gets the call from Jim Leyland, but Verlander's recent starts have ended in 4 losses in a row. It's not Verlander's fault his game is right on, giving up no runs in last 3 starts and all 4 losses are quality start. Needless to say 3 out of 4 games finished Under. Verlander is also striking out hitters in double digit for 3 straight starts. Oakland will counter with young gun Sonny Gray who was masterful in his last start against Detroit and A's beating Justin Verlander 1-0. Sonny was picked over veteran Bartolo Colon and his starts have finished 5 wins in a row. Both teams will throw everything they have into this game and despite the lopsided win and loss record for these two pitchers we will back Detroit in this spot. Sonny has regressed in games after going 8 innings plus recording no runs, occurred twice in last 10 starts resulting in losses to Seattle at home and Houston at home. Although post season is a different animal with pitchers evolving first year pitchers in post season has failed. We like battle tested Jim Leyland at the helm and battle tested Justin Verlander on the mound. Go against the line movement.

Tampa Rays at Boston Red Sox
After getting embarrassed in game one with money pitcher Matt Moore Tampa will send another money pitcher David Price to cool the Boston bats.  Boston will counter with veteran John Lackey,  10-13 and Red Sox are 14-15.  John may have lost his last start in Colorado, but Boston at home is tough as it gets. At Fenway Lackey has pitched 11 quality games out of 13 and hold 6-3 record while the Red Sox are 9-4.  It's never easy at the historical Fenway and at times the visitors are blown out. However second game of this post season series Tampa will send David Price who is pitching well and excels on the road. Price looks to be in post season form and Tampa will be focused. The key to this match up and what has changed over this post season is the total going Over. This game with 7.5 has opened Over, but declined towards closing. Games one and. two are supposed to represent low scoring which has bucked the trend and scoring has been effective.  Overall numbers across the board has late movement. Pittsburgh take out the Reds and earn their position against St Louis. Now it's AJ Burnett to keep the Pirates in game. He's been great down the stretch and no doubt he is a battle tested pitcher. However I feel the Cardinals will have a better pitcher in Adam Wainright. Burnett's has been quality at home , but his road numbers are not impressive. Wainright in a spot to improve and this Cardinals team looks too much for Pittsburgh today.

They have not been here since the famed early 90's. They have accumulated 56 home wins. They should go to the post season the Bucks have already swept the Cincinnati Reds at their home stadium, they deserve it... As much as I'd like to buy into all that the Reds starter Cueto has been very good at PNC Park. Although Lariano is fantastic at home Cincinnati did hit him here at PNC. Starter Bud Norris did not last, but neither did Toronto's Esmil Rogers who lasted little over 4 inning and both teams taxed the pen. The bats came alive in this game with combined 28 hits. Today the pitching should improve with Mark Buehrle and Miguel Gonzalez. Toronto with Buehrle is not as good on the road as he is at home, but still pitching 50 percent quality games, winning 50 percent and absolute Under is a tough customer. Miguel Gonzalez is killing it at home. Looks to be a tight game and this match up goes Under

The game is at AT&T park and the weather looks good, mild wind nothing new to this stadium. The pitcher for L.A. is Edinson Volquez 9-12, 5-5 away, though he is pitching better at home his record is better on the road. Mostly due to the Dodgers giving him tons of run support. The average total for games Volquez starts away is 10.73, including his San Diego days, and he is 50/50 so he gets runs and gives up runs as well. San Francisco will send Tim Lincecum 10-14, 5-6 at home and team record at home is 7-8. Tim is coming off a loss at New York Yankees, but he has 5 prior starts has the Giants winning all 5. The Dodgers are alternating their line up resting players and the Giants at home hold advantage. They have won 4 out of 6 against the Dodgers in September meetings. Got the Angels ace Jered Weaver on the mound today. Though Jered's numbers are not that imposing his home starts are outstanding. L.A. is 7-4 with Weaver starting at home and his starts have been over 70% quality games. The Angels is showing what this team is capable and though this season is done the late run has the Angels winning 9 series in a row since losing to Cleveland back in 8/19 to 8/23 and the Halos can very well make it 10 series with a win over Oakland, they've already beat the A's recently in Oakland. Oakland will send Dan Straily who is on a roll. He has logged 4 straight wins and ND, which the A's won, giving Oakland 5 straight wins with Straily starting. With Oakland clinching the West one would expect a regression period, making L.A. a good wager, but this Oakland team seems to be going pedal to the metal. Straily is also a road pitcher with the A's going 8-6 with plenty of run support. As good as Weaver is he missed his last start and I'm sure the Angels do not want to over extend him. Going to ride Oakland to break the Angels series wins.

Arizona will go with Brandon McCarthy, he is 5-9 overall 2-5 away. He is coming off a win at home and he's beaten San Diego at home. The DBacks have given McCarthy support and the team record away is 4-5. Texas sending Alexi Ogando going up against Kansas City, James Shields. Alexi Ogando  was pitching out of the bullpen but is now back into the rotation and I expect him to do well in Kansas City.  The Texas Rangers are better road team and Ogando is better on the road at 5-3, Rangers are 9-5, he's been limited in his pitches so should be ready to go in this rubber game against the Royals.  Kansas City Royals sending James Shields who is 12-9 , but most of his wins have come on the road. Shields is 3-6 at home with Royals going 7-8. James is also sporting 1.42 WHIP at home compared to 1.13 WHIP away. The Diamondback's season is done and the Dodgers are down to couple of wins for post season birth, but the urgency is lacking here and Arizona has always played tough against the Dodgers. Stephen Fife gives Kershaw little rest and takes the spot start. Fife last came out of the pen against S.F. Giants when they put of 19 runs, Fife gave up 5 of the 19, but he has pitched well as a starter. Fife is economical and has often pitched into the 6th inning. Still he is bit of work in progress. The Dodgers are 2-4 on the road with Fife on the mound. The Diamondbacks took a big blow last night against the Dodgers, but still have chance at taking the season series against the Dodgers. Pulling the Ace for extra rest might not bold well with Arizona either. Brandon McCarthy getting the ball and though too little too late Brandon is pitching his best games of the season. This game, not too long ago, looked like Oakland was going to give the Angels some whopping kick ass. Now the Angels are looking pretty nasty.  Despite L.A. at this point is looking toward next season there is nothing more satisfying than to take down the A's. That would be a statement considering Oakland is a contender, top of AL West and pulling away from Texas, 6.5 games ahead of the pack.  47-27 at home, they rarely lose. Tonight the A's send Jarrod Parker 11-6, but the A's are 16-13 which is bit negative with Parker starting. He is getting tons of run support and is a tough 10-6 at home. He has been quality 9 out of last 10 and his only bad start came against the Angels. The Angels will send C.J. Wilson who is absolutely money on the road and he will likely improve. Back on Thursday after putting the posts on sideline. There are interesting development with low priced non contenders, like the Angels, going on bit of a run. Another noticeable team is Toronto 6-4 in last 10 dropping last 2, but the Jays were 8-2 in prior 10 games with successful road trip of 5-1. Both teams doing it with their bats and these two team match up Over 11-1. Garrett Richards taking the ball for L.A. 6-6 with team record of 21-22. He is trending Over at 25-16 though Under holds slight edge away from Anaheim 11-8. Garrett is coming off a quality start against Texas 7 innings 6 hits 1 earned run and no homer. That's about peak for Richards and likely regress at Rogers Center. J.A. Happ is coming off a win in Minnesota behind 11 runs form the Jays, but he's still not pitching deep and he has been terrible at home 1-4 and the Jays are 1-5. Toronto Blue Jays at Minnesota Twins
Again we look towards the bottom of the standings to find this match up. As with many of the bottom dwellers the common biggest weakness is their failure on the road. The match up will feature weak road starter against a good home pitcher.  Sometimes simple equation will lead to the winner.

Alright people get busy. We'll be rocking MLB, NCAA Football and WNBA today so hit me up.

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs
Looking at the bottom end of the spectrum. Brew crew vs Cubbies to stay out of the basement cellar. Milwaukee has this huge rookie pitcher Johnny Hellweg, 6'9" 205Lbs throwing 97 mph fastballs. He hasn't show results, but showed dominance in minor level and should hold up better than what he's produced. Chicago will go with Jake Arieta who is more seasoned and proven product, but still lacking consistency in stringing quality starts. The Brewer has played the Cubs well and we will go against the line movement for a shot at the road dog Milwaukee Brewers.

Pittsburgh Pirates at St Louis Cardinals
We do have a angle on NL Central battle Pittsburgh at St Louis featuring Jeff Locke, who's had his troubles since All Star Break, against Adam Wainwright, who been hit against Cincinnati in his last two starts. These two teams are fighting for the first place and St Louis is holding advantage winning game 1 of this series. The line has swung widely since the opening with the Cardinals rising has high as -170 and dropping to -160. St Louis is very strong 42-25 at home and Wainwright, despite his recent losses, is high quality starter pitching deep and giving up less than 3 runs 75% of his games. Looking like a tight game in early going if Locke can bounce back. Jeff Locke is not going the distance and he was sent down to the minors for a tune up, I like that, and he is a road pitcher. What am I backing here in St Louis? Taking the First 5 inning to go below 4 runs total.

Tampa Bay Rays at Seattle Mariners
We recently faded the Rays and they won that game against the Angels, but the series was taken by the Angels and Tampa is still hurting. They've lost two series in their west coast road trip and now arrive in Seattle. I'm not sure if the travel from South West to North West is going to help the team because Seattle is going to send Hisashi Iwakuma 5-3 at home with 0.86 WHIP and the Mariners are 9-6 with Iwakuma on the mound. The Rays will go with Alex Cobb 8-3, perfect 5-0 at home, but 50% on the road at 3-3. He's not allowing much more on the road, but Tampa is not supporting him on the road. That has been the case for majority of this road trip. We're going to back the Mariners as the home dog.

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees
Classic battle in the Bronx. The line come tight and I expect the game to do the same. In this match up Boston will send Jake Peavy who has 2 quality starts in a row, but has not been consistent. He pitched 9 innings in L.A. Angels giving up 3 hits 1 run in vintage Peavy fashion then 7 innings against the White Sox giving up 2 runs, not as good as the game in L.A., but still impressive. Now in the Bronx he regresses a bit more. The game in L.A. was a anomaly and he's going to get hit by New York. That's not to say the Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova is going to improve, He went the distance against Baltimore 3 hits no run game, He will likely regress, but he has been money at home 6-2 and Yanks are 8-3. This one looks like the offense is going to out do the pitching and the Total is sitting on a low 8. Take the Over and look for both pitchers not to factor into this game.

The Giants and Tim Lincecum are back at Petco. This is the scene back in July 13 where Lincecum pitched a no hitter throwing 148 pitches to finish on top 9-0. Timmy is also coming off 6 innings no run game in Arizona and he is pitching much better lately. San Diego's Eric Stultz is without a win since July 21st, but that was a knock out against S.F. G-men at home 10-1. He also has two ND's which the Friers have won and Stultz is a home pitcher at 5-3 and the Padres going 9-4. We are backing Stultz and the Padres to take this one at home.

Tampa Bay Rays at Los Angeles Angels
It's September and the Angeles are now a spoiler. L.A. in their role is doing great. Like a heavy burden suddenly lifted off their shoulders new life has come to this team that had so much expectation at the start of the season and that's all fizzled they are playing to give the contenders a run for their money. The Angels are 64-72 overall, 32-37 at home and double digit off the leader. However the L.A. Angels rolling 9-1 last 10 games, going 8-1 in last away trip. Tonight's starter Jason Vargas is a sleeper with winning home record of 5-1. For pitchers under 136 innings Vargas is money.  His wins have come better then 1.5 runs so with Jason as home dog we're talking about reverse runline. The Rays are struggling big time and though they have returning star in Matt Moore to stop the losing streak, but Matt hasn't pitched all August. The Rays are due for a win at some point, but the risk side for the Rays are much higher tonight against a hot team with a good home pitcher. Tampa losers of current road trip at 0-4 overall 2-8 in last 10 games and their bats have gone cold.

Looks like the players are fading Joe Saunders and the Mariners tonight. Joe has been struggling of late going 1-5 and awful ERA 7.71 in last seven starts. His overall road numbers are 5-7 and the Mariners are 6-9. But following a game where he gave up 7 runs on 9 hits he should improve against Houston.  The Astros sending Dallas Keuchel who is coming off of 7 scoreless innings against the Blue Jays was the hard luck loser ending 1-2 and holds promise, but Keuchel is not consistent yet and I sense a set back after that start. I don't think these starter will qualify for decision today, but Seattle to come out on top.

The battle of AL East continues with Baltimore in striking distance and need to keep Boston in sights. The task will not be easy in Fenway where the Sox own 42-23 record. The Red Sox have already taken 2 out of 3 and winning their last 4 in a row. Boston has collected wins in last 3 series, but as for the Baltimore Boston series for this season it's knotted up at 2-2.  Jon Lester getting the ball tonight for Boston and he has been pitching well. 4-0 at home with Boston going 8-1 and getting plenty of run support. Despite all the fortunes of Boston at home they will see one of their nemesis with Chris Tillman getting the call.  Tillman 7-1 pitching much better on the road and Baltimore is excellent 9-2 when Chris gets the start. Going for the salvage on the road with Baltimore as a sizable underdog.

The Mariners Ace Felix Hernandez will take the mound in a night-day game against Texas young gun Martin Perez. "King Felix" coming off a quality start, but had tough time against Texas in Arlington back in 8/17. He also had trouble against Toronto, but otherwise throwing well. But then Mariners are not supporting Felix resulting in 1-4 record in August. Texas has been surging and Martin Perez is in the money. 4 wins 1 ND in last 5 with Texas winning all 5 games. Martin has pitched more on the road with 5-2 record and if you look at his recent 3 starts his WHIP is 1.09 ,but Martin is also the beneficiary of excellent run support. The Books have hung a low number here at 7 in pitcher friendly confines of Safeco Field. Martin is pitching Under 5-3 away, but averaging Total is 10. Felix also pitching Under, but the Rangers match has gone Over 5-1-1 last 7 and 3-0-1 in Seattle. Felix has not had back to back Under pitching at Safeco. Tampa Bay Rays at Kansas City Royals
The Rays are making a push for October. Keeping in striking distance of AL East while keeping the Wild Card spot on hold the Rays will travel to Kansas City. The Rays have won all series since returning from the West coast.  The Royals was able to stop the bleeding yesterday taking the last game of the series against the Nationals, but it was not a easy game. 7 games losing streak and one late inning win makes KC a risky proposition against a AL East contender. On the other side Jeremy Hellickson starting for the Rays has not been pitching deep of late and having a losing August going 1-3.  Jeremy's road numbers are opposite of his home starts and Rays are 5-8. Kansas City sending Jeremy Guthrie their top money pitcher, but he too is having a losing August going 1-3 and his ERA has been on the rise for past 3 starts. The pitching angle will favor KC today, but Tampa is playing better ball. The Total has risen to 9 and the game under the sun seems likely to get some runs, but this type of game is likely to fall short. Looking for the rising total to fail going Over.

But not much attention have been given to the Sides and Barry Zito taking the mound for the S.F. seems like an after thought. I don't think it'll be so easy for the Rox to steam roll the Giants today. Zito in a spot to improve and he's pitched well at Coors.  Juan Nicasio 3 quality starts out of 10 home games with Rox 5-5 does not impress. We'll back the Giants on the road.

Today the Giants will send Ryan Vogelsong who pitches much better at home. He will face off with AJ Burnett who has been pitching well with better then 60% quality starts, but has lacked wins. You have to love the AL East rivalry 4 out of 5 teams are playing above .500 ball. The Yankees in 4th place six games back of Boston is almost lined up with Baltimore and they can certainly make it interesting if the Yanks take the Tampa series. It's no easy task at the Trop. the Rays hold 32-28 record against division opponents, 41-23 at home record. But N.Y. 8-2 in last 10 games are hot and Hiroki Kuroda 5 quality starts out of last 7 and the Yanks have gone 5-2. Kuroda is coming off a poor start and he should bounce back today.  Chris Archer with 15 starts is maybe not Kuroda's level, but he too is pitching well 4 quality of of last 7 games. However he has not logged a win since July 27th, beating Yankees in NY 1-0, and scoring will be tough to come tonight. It's mid week baseball and we look to remain sharp.

Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres
Pittsburgh is the team to beat in NL Central and there are 3 teams, St Louis and Cincinnati, all playing with more then 70+ winners. It's going to a wild NL Central finish down the stretch and every one of these games will count no matter who the opponent. I see all three of these teams getting money facing weaker teams. With that said the Bucks will send Gerrit Cole, New Port Beach, CA. product and pride of UCLA, he should feel pretty comfortable pitching at PetCo. Cole has not pitched much on the road, 20 innings, but 0.69 WHIP all 3 quality starts and all 3 games Under. San Diego Padres split the 4 game series with New York Mets, but dropped the first 2 of 3 game series with Pittsburgh Pirates. Now in danger of getting swept at home and their current home record is 2-4. The Padres 3-7 in last 10 in need of a win will send Ian Kennedy to stop the losses. Kennedy coming off a bad start, 4 2/3 innings 7 hits 5 runs, 3 homers, overall 4-9 and combined team record of 8-16. The public has Kennedy tagged for a fade, however, Ian Kennedy from Huntington Beach, CA. and pride of USC is not going to get shown off by a UCLA product. Though Kennedy is 6 years Gerrit's senior and never faced each other outside of MLB This Southern California history suggests pride will be on Kennedy's shoulder. Cole is the celebrated young gun and Kennedy is coming to his twilight. The line has been moving in favor of Pittsburgh and we will go against the grain in taking the home dog San Diego.  The Pirates are 3-8 in last 11 as a road favorite, 1-5 in last 6 against pitcher with WHIP greater than 1.30, 0-4 in last 4 after Cole's quality start. San Diego Padres 11-5 last 16 after scoring 2 runs or less, 5-2 in last 7 against pitcher with WHIP less than 1.15, 5-2 after opponents score 5 runs or more.

The line movement was big L.A. went from mid -120's to mid -140's and the loss shows the state of demise. The Indians are not a good road team by any means, but today's pitcher Danny Salazar comes in with 0.98 WHIP and will see a weaker Angels line up. Still do not trust Indians after a road win. The Angels pitcher CJ Wilson has two straight wins on the road, one of them in Cleveland, and he is pitching better at home. I like the Angels tonight, but the money will take the Under. The Total tonight is favoring the number to go Over 7.5 -121 and we are taking the Total Under.

L.A. rolling and if you don't know you have no clue as to what's happening in Baseball. Vegas odds have L.A. going all the way and it wasn't that long ago when the Dodgers were rated 100-1. Stranger things have happened in baseball and it's fair to say the odds will move again before October. Well, the Dodgers did lose that last game in Philadelphia and it was a game where L.A. started with the lead. L.A. had been absolute money when drawing first blood, not just winning, but taking the RL money as well. Today the Dodgers are in Miami taking on the lowly Marlins. L.A. is favored with Hyun Jin Ryu taking the mound. Ryu is making money at 12-3, team record 17-6, on the road with Ryu on the mound Dodgers are 8-4. So if you love the Dodgers your in luck because the line has come down from the opening. If the public loves the Dodgers and the line is coming down the big play is on Miami and the Marlins will send their top pitcher Jose Fernandez. You might think this is a good pitching duel, but Ryu's road numbers are not impressive. He did  go deep in St Louis and pitched well at home against New York which covers some of his unmemorable starts on the road like 8/2 Chicago Cubs lasting 5 innings giving up 11 hits, but Cubbies only cashed in 2 runs to lose or 7/22 Toronto 5 innings 9 hits 4 runs, but L.A. exploded for 14 runs or 7/10 Arizona 5 innings 7 hits 5 runs, but again L.A. offense answered. Now L.A. offense has started to cool and late inning rallies wearing off. L.A. coming off a loss in very winnable game in Philadelphia set's up Jose Fernandez to mow down this Dodgers line up in their tail end of the road trip.

Gaudin's lacking quality starts and despite his 4-0 road record the Giants have logged 6-6 team record. However Gaudin has improved over the season and now looks fully stretched out.  With the Giants bull pen heavily taxed Chad will be challenged to extend his outing.  The Miami Marlins will also send a pitcher on the rise with Nathan Eovaldi.  Nathan pitching quality starts, but Miami not giving him any runs.  Eovaldi starts have averaged under 7 runs total.  This game should be tight and low scoring.  The Giants Under 10-3-1 in last 14,  6-2 when opponent score 2 runs or less, Gaudin Under 4-1 when opponent scores 5 runs or more.  Miami Under 20-5-3 overall, 12-3-1 against losing teams, Eovaldi Under 4-0 after a quality start, Under 5-0 overall.  Going Under 7 with the Giants

On the last game of this series the Pirates will send AJ Burnett 5-8 tough luck pitcher with 2.95 ERA, team record of 9-12, road record of 2-8. He is coming off a non quality loss in Colorado after completing a 9 inning 1 run win at home against the same team.  Normally I would suggest a bounce back here on sea level, but that has not been the case this season as indicated by the team record. Lance Lynn has also been having problems getting the "W" despite pitching 4 straight quality games. His overall game in last 10 starts have gone 4-6 dropping some heavy favorites at more than -200 making Lynn backers little gun shy is a understatement. However Lynn 8-2 at home with Cardinals going 9-3. Oakland with Colon got knocked out yesterday and I have a feeling A's Jarrod Parker's going to have a touch match up. Oakland may wake up here, but the First 5 innings might be interesting. This match up was played out in Houston 5-4 Astro's winner, but that score due to 3 runs scored in the bottom of the 9th for the rally and the upset. Houston 2-8 in last 10 games have not won back to back in quite sometime however the back to back sequence has happened with better percentage on the road. Cosart has already shown better stuff on the road with 0.86 ERA and 0.95 WHIP coming off a non quality home start against Boston. Cosart had the lead in Minnesota and tied game in Toronto midway through. He also blanked Tampa for the win. Parker has 2 wins in a row since going with a decision for 6 games in a row. Philadelphia Phillies at Washington Nationals
The Nationals brought their big bats yesterday clobbering John Lannan and the visiting Phillies, final score 9-2, with the Nats getting 12 hits to Phillies 4 hits. Philadelphia is not close to being well with record of 52-63 much of their losses have come on the road 23-36. Despite the telling tales of Philadelphia coming to Nationals Park where the Nats have 32-28 record these two teams are similar in their 2013 quest for the pennant race. Yesterday's one sided game was a rarity. 6 out of last 10 match ups was decided with 2 runs or less, home team has won 7 out of last 10, but Phillies will send one of their top road pitcher in Cliff Lee. He is not getting support and though Cliff is 6-2 away the Phillies have 6-6 record not able to fully take advantage. The Nationals going with Taylor Jordan who is not pitching quality, 2 out of 7 non quality starts, and Philadephia has beat him 4-2 back in July 9th knocked him out in 5 innings. Nationals are 0-7 after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game. 2-6 against pitcher with WHIP less than 1.15 and Cliff Lee coming into a spot to improve. Backing Lee to take care of 5 innings in Nationals Park and looking for the lead mid way through

Taking the Al Central match up where the Indians have battled in game three of this series, but they were defeated in extra innings to slide 0-3 now in danger of 4 game sweep at home. That'll wash out the 4 game sweep they've just won from the White Sox in ther previous home stand. Cleveland going with Zack McAllister and he is a home pitcher, but he's not working very deep, have not gone 7 innings in 5 of his last 6.  Zack may improve today, but Detroit sending their top money pitcher Max Scherzer who is dominant of late and better on the road.  Looking for Scherzer to continue his winning ways. Baltimore Orioles at San Diego Padres
A day game at Petco Park you should be there. It'll be some cloud coverage, but sunny mild about 72 degrees with little breeze. Shorts and T-shirt with a hat kind of day. Also a good pitching day. Baltimore Orioles have declined in the race and money. Going 5-5 in last 10 games however at the hefty price tag they carried through Houston and Seattle series the wins were marginal and losses were heavy. Now on the road they managed to pull ahead in game 1 of San Diego inter league series, which Baltimore continues as favorites, sending Miguel Gonzales, 8-5 winning pitcher, who wins more at home then away. He bombed out in last two starts and does come in a spot to improve. Miguel does much better in day games where his WHIP drops to 1.14 and though he does not have the wins to go with his quality road starts he is 70% quality on the road. The Padres will send their veteran Eric Stults with 8-10 record overall, but 5-2 at home with team record of 8-2 and his WHIP at home is a nasty 0.94 pitching 80% quality starts.  These teams are not exactly Under trending teams, they both play slightly Over, and Petco Park is not the pitcher friendly park it used to be, but given these two teams are not that familiar with either pitching and both pitchers coming in a spot to improve in performance. Inter league Under for Baltimore road games 7-2, 13-6 in last 19 overall. San Diego is Under 5-2, with Total at 7 to 8.5 is Under 6-2 in last 8.  Back the UNDER.

Los Angeles Dodgers at St Louis Cardinals
The Dodgers are rolling, they are the hottest team in baseball and everyone's talking about the Dodgers, Puig, Rameriz, their pitching and the Dodgers stock have become sky high.  Matter of fact they are getting inflated. Today with Kershaw taking the mound Southern California money is on the Dodgers for sure. The Cards are tough on good pitchers, 25-10 last 35 against pitchers with WHIP less than 1.15 and they are 7-3 at current Under dog price. St Louis does not lose many home games and Joe Kelly has pitched two good games against winning opponents, Pittsburgh and Atlanta. Make this a tough match up, but St Louis off a loss is 39-17 in last 56 games. Kelly is 4-1 in last 5 home starts. This match up in St Louis has resulted 36-17 in favor of the Cardinals.

Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals
The Nats are 12.5 games behind the 1st place Atlanta and their season is fading. They will send their top ERA pitcher Stephen Straussburg with 3.04 in 130 innings of work.  At home that ERA is down to 1.68 with 75 innings and 0.88 WHIP. Needless to say his home Total has gone Under 8-3 The trouble with  Straussburg  is a money losing pitcher, maybe not all his doing, but the Nationals are 4-7 when Straussburg starts at home. It all started with a shaky start in Miami back in July 12th, he returned home to pitch quality games, but was out done by two hot teams, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles, then took another loss in Detroit. Making it 4 losses in a row. Straussburgh is due for a win the way he's pitching at home, but considering how he has failed against winning teams we will back Atlanta on a Dog day Monday.  Atlanta 11-3 in last 14 match up against Washington.  The Braves will go with Mike Minor.  He is 11-5 with 2.75 ERA, 6-2 on the road pitching 80% quality games and the Braves are 8-3 in last 11 Minor road starts.

Two teams that had so much expectation this season and they are both a bust. Playing below .500 baseball at this point your setting your sights for next season. Toronto had a bright spot in Oakland winning their road series against division leading A's and the Jays extend their winning ways against AL West. They did lose last night, but they come in winning two series in a row.  The Jays bats are heating up again as they have scored 4 runs or more 7 out of last 10 games. Tommy Hanson for the Halos are giving up tons of runs, double digit average total in his starts. The Jays are sending Todd Redmond and expect a corp of relievers mid way through L.A. back from a dismal road trip and back at home they are .500 team. The extended losses should reverse in their home stand and likely split this series with Toronto. Seattle Mariners at Boston Red Sox
The Mariners Ace will take the mound to prevent the sweep in Boston. Felix Hernandez aka King Felix has been all that with 11-4 record, 6 quality starts in last 7 games, 9 quality starts in 12 road starts and 7 of his 11 wins have come on the road.  Felix has already beaten the Red Sox on July 8th 11-4 in 7 inning 2 run performance. But that win over Boston at Safeco was the lone win in the Boston series. After that the M's went on 8 game winning streak, caught two weak teams and Cleveland, two 1 run wins, to take the series. Now that's ended the Mariners have logged 2-5 record.  Red Sox at Fenway is a different animal from what the Mariners saw in Seattle. Tough as nails when Sox are favored, 41-17 in 58 games, 26-10 at -110 to -150, 23-9 in home games. Ryan Dempster faced the Mariners July 11 getting a No Decision, 8-7 Boston winner, and Ryan has not been quality 3 games in a row, but the Red Sox has pulled out winners in all of them. King Felix maybe the better pitcher tonight, but Felix is a money losing pitcher for the Mariners, 4-12 against winning teams, 1-5 following a previous team loss.  Mariners are 0-5 in last 5 meet in Boston.

Sup fellas? Mid week baseball is for the purest. Not much fair weather fans putting action on their game. Makes you want to go for the line movers like Baltimore, Cleveland, Tampa or Oakland, but it's not about what's on the surface and there are no easy days. We do the heavy lifting so you don't have to.

Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins
The Royals with cheese is looking good these days. KC rolling, 7-0 last 7 games, sending Jeremy Guthries on the visitor's mound and he has been good, 16-4 last 20 following a quality start. Minnesota is reeling, 7-16 after the opponent scores 5 runs or more. Kevin Correias 1-5 last 6 as a under dog and against right hand starters. Obviously the line has moved to favor Kansas, but it opened much tighter closer to even money. Kevin Correias at home is 5-1 with the Twins going 7-3 and he's pitching in a bounce back spot after bombing out at Seattle. Looks like a tight game coming up. We are backing the Total to go Under 8.5 today.  KC  Under 4-0-1 last after allowing 5 runs or more, 5-1-1 last 7 following a win, 7-2-1 last 10 after opponent scores 2 runs or less, 4-1 in Guthries last 5 road starts, 6-2 last 8 following a quality start.  Minnesota Under 12-5 last 17 overall, 8-1 last 9 against teams with winning record, 6-2 last 8 following a loss, Correias Under 6-0 last 6 against teams with winning record, 5-2 last 7 after opponent scores 5 runs or more. 5Dimes has the best line for this game.

As the Brewers have dominated against the Cubs these two teams also play Over. The power out trend has Chicago going way Under 7 four times in a row, but today that number has gone to 8 seeing some 8.5 with today's pitchers looking very much Over.  Charlie Villanueva is Over 8-6 which is not a big edge, but average score in double digits. Yovani Gallardo Over 14-7 lasted 4 innings against the Cubs in last match up, June 26 going Over, didn't look good in last game against San Diego. You'd think Gallardo will improve here, but last time he threw a clunker at home followed by a road start he did not bounce back.

Chicago is playing hot coming off a winning West Coast road trip, sweeping the Giants to finish their road game and returning home to take on the weak road team Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs will send Jeff Samardzija and the Cubs won both of his recent road starts, but he labored in Arizona getting a ND after 5  2/3 innings and last two home stands Jeff got knocked out by the Angels and Pirates. The Cubs may have edged the Giants, but they're still not hitting much and Milwaukee's line up is starting to put up some runs. Kyle Lohse getting the ball for the Brewers. He is pitching in mid season form and was solid against the Cubs back in 6/25. Lohse is pitching 1.09 WHIP on the road, July games 4-1. Cubs 6-16  last 22 after allowing 2 runs or less, 16-37 last 53 with Total set at 7 to 8.5 at home, 26-57 last 83 against pitcher with WHIP less than 1.15, Samardzija 2-6 at home with Total set at 7 to 8.5 and 2-6 in his last 8 starts against NL Central. Shelby Miller is having a fine season for St Louis at 10-6, 13-6 team record, but he is a bit weaker on the road at 4-4.  Atlanta sending Kris Medlen, 6-10, 9-11 team record, who has pitched 3 non quality starts in a row. Three sub par starts for Medlen is out of the norm. He should improve here at home, especially in this match up against the Cardinals where the runs have come at a premium. New York Mets at Washington Nationals
In the National League East Washington Nationals have fallen below .500 and now trail Atlanta by 8.5 games. 3-7 in last 10 games. They managed a 1 run win over the Mets yesterday. The Mets are 4th in the East and 10.5 back of Atlanta, but right on back of Philadelphia and nipping on Washington's heels.
Dan Haren has been a bust this season at 4-11, team record 4-14, and it might be little better with home team record 3-5, but Mets are hot and Dillon Gee is pitching well. Beat Pittsburgh away, quality at Atlanta and only gave up 1 run last time he was in Washington in 10-1 win. The Mets 7-1 last 8 after scoring  2 runs or less, 7-2 last 9 as the under dog +110 to +150, 13-3 last 16 following a loss, 7-3 last 10 against teams with home winning record, Nationals 1-4 as favorite -110 to -150, 3-8 against right hand starters and 2-7 with current total.  Fade Haren and the Nationals. The Pirates are still the top money team in the game, double the winnings over number 2 Oakland. They are getting pricey these days. The Bucs sending their top ERA and WHIP pitcher to the mound, Jeff Locke, and he is solid on the road. 8-1 after a quality start. But Miami is bit of a sleeper with winning RL record 56-44 and they are very good at back to back wins. The last isolated win was back in June 14th against St. Louis and from that point the Marlins have strung 2 or more winners. Henderson Alvarez, 24 innings and 4 games with Miami, is coming off a quality start making it two in a row. Gave up no runs in Milwaukee working 7 economical innings. The Yankees are 4-6 in last 10 and 2-6 in current road trip. The Rangers are 3-7 in last 10 and 2-6 at current home stand. Both Texas home wins are against NY in current series. What stand out in this match up is inability to bring home the runs. Both teams are strong Under teams this year and today's pitchers, Hiroki Kuroda for NY Under 14-4 and Derek Holland Under 11-8 (8-1 at home), are in mid season form pitching quality games going deep. Coming off a slug fest winner in Toronto. Maybe the Jays were suppose to win that one, but let it get away.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Toronto Blue Jays
The Jays are a dangerous team that's out of sync and they are capable of putting up crooked numbers, like last night, out scoring their opponent. They didn't score enough last night. The line is tight again and the books see Ricky Nolasco as a weak link with 6-9 and 3-3 on the road. The Jays do play inter league games well at home, 9-3, and today's pitcher Esmil Rogers is their top money guy. At 2-2 record with Rogers the Jays are 6-3. The problem with Rogers is that he's a road pitcher at 4-1 team record.  He does not pitch quality at home, 1 quality start out of 4 and team record of 2-2, and the pen was rocked by the Dodgers last night. We have white hot Dodgers with Ricky Nolasco, playing solid in Dodger blue, against the Jays with depleted pitching squad, a starter unlikely to go deep and just look at the trend from yesterday's write up. The Dodgers hit right hand pitching very well at 11-1 over last 12 road games. The Jays are 5-16 over last 21 games against teams with winning record, 3-7 over last 10 against pitchers with WHIP greater than 1.30 and 2-6 after scoring 5 or more. The Jays are 2-8 last 10 games. Todd Redmond going for the Jays have little over 16 innings of work and Toronto has 2 wins behind him. Todd kept the Jays in game against Baltimore with 4 innings of work. Expect Todd to extend his innings today, but I don't see Jays winning this one. The Dodgers sending Chris Capuano who is coming off a 6 innings no run game against Colorado. Chris is lacking in road quality starts, 2 out of 5, but his WHIP is an impressive 1.06 and he doesn't give up much runs. He also blanked the Yankees for 6 innings in his only other AL East match up.

It's the power teams Baltimore at Texas and what's unfolding is the Orioles 7 out of last 10 looking for a sweep with their top pitcher on the mound, Chris Tillman 11-3, whereas Texas Rangers 4 out of last 10 looking to salvage this series and stop the bleeding. This is the second time in short 7 games where Texas faces losing 4th game in a row.  One of the amazing thing the Rangers had been doing was bouncing back off losses. Maybe short as before June 13th Texas was the best after a loss maybe two losses.  Three losses was like blue moon and four was like a lightning strike, it happened in Rangers 6 game losing streak, but otherwise has been stopped at three. The last time Texas got swept at home, Toronto 6/13-6/16 four game sweep, during the 6 game losing streak.  Again very rare up to this point, but Texas showing struggles at the plate and pitchers getting tagged we're going to take the O birds to continue rolling through Texas.

This is the regular time match up with two good pitchers facing off.  This one looks to be your old school National League style game. Zack Greinke is the top money pitcher for the Dodgers. Despite his winning ways his quality games are lacking and on the road the number is 2 quality starts out of 7, team record 4-3. Zack has minimized damage, outside of Colorado, and his form has improved significantly. The Nationals countering with Gio Gonzalez who is the 2nd money winning pitcher in the staff. He has been consistent with 14 out of 19 quality starts and perfect 7 in last 7 games. However the number is a bit weaker at home 6 out of 9 and the Nationals have 5-4 record.  Gio is 10-4 as a favorite and perfect 4-0 against the West. The Total here at 7.5 with good pitchers in not so good pitching spot deserves a Over consideration, but Cooper behind the plate this one will likely edge Under. This is a good one in the battle of AL West. If the Angels are to improve they better take care of Oakland. Weaver taking the ball for L.A. He has been in mid season form last 3 out of 4 although the last game in Seattle was rough. Weaver pitches better at home with nasty WHIP of 1.19 and strong Under at 5-1. Oakland will counter with AJ Griffin  He is coming off 8 inning no run ball against Boston and is very good at home, but no so on the road. . Texas Rangers at Detroit Tigers
Detroit's ace Justin Verlander is taking the ball on this rubber match. Justin and Max Scherzer are the top two winning starters, but the Tigers team record only has rewarded Scherzer (15-3) Verlander at 10-9 is nowhere close to being in the black. Matter of fact he has lost the most money in Tigers rotation. The Rangers will send left handed starter Martin Perez. Martin is pitching well since being recalled from Triple A Round Rock and is poised to keep the Rangers in game. It will not be a easy task at Comerica where the Tigers are 28-19 and rarely drop back to back games at home, only happened 3 times this season, and Verlander in a spot to improve after giving up 12 hits and 5 runs against the White Sox. Justin in his prior game shut down the powerful Toronto line up on the road and I do feel Verlander's form will return here. However is money line differential is pretty substantial with Texas having winning road record, slightly better record in day games, left handed pitching advantage and better bull pen, shutting down games better than 90%. This looks closer than what the line suggest, even with Verlander at home on a rubber match, with good chance of starters not factoring into the results.
This game also looks to fall Under. Texas Under 16-4-1 last 21 games against AL Central. 12-4-1 last 18 games when opponent allows 5 runs or more. 13-5-1 last 19 games against pitcher with WHIP greater than 1.30 Under 19-9-2 last 30 games when opponent scores 2 runs or less. Under 20-7-2 last 29 games against right handed pitching.  Detroit Under 5-2-1 last 8 games against winning teams. Verlander Under 5-2-1 after scoring 2 runs or less,  11-1-1 in Verlanders last 13 games when he starts third game of series and his Sunday starts have gone 20-8-2. Arizona has won 3 out of 4 behind him and he's coming off his best start, 8 inning no run game against Colorado.  Look for Skaggs to regress here. Hyun Jin Ryu for the Dodgers have been on a roll. At 11-6 record he is coming off a win against the Giants at S.F. pitching 6.2 innings throwing 107 pitches. In line with how he's been pitching, but could improve tonight in Phoenix. This is a much different match up than what we saw in L.A. back in June 12th. The Dodgers started their terror from June 21st while Arizona has gone 8-10.  Backing the rising Dodgers in Arizona for the sweep.

Toronto Blue Jays at Cleveland Indians
This is a match up of Cleveland, in the hunt for post season, against Toronto, in search of lost power. The pitchers on the mound are Josh Johnson, string of  poor starts, for Toronto against Ubaldo Jimenez, has not lasted more than 5 innings in last 6 starts. However both of these right handers come in on a bounce back spot with a Total set at 9. Jimenez Under 9-3-1 in last 10. He is Under 18-5-3 in last 26 starts with current Total, 6-1 when he pitches at home. At current total Indians are Under 18-8-1 in last 27 home games.  Josh Johnson has been excellent after allowing 7 hits or more. Jays Under 13-3 after scoring 5 runs or more in last 16,  Under is 9-2 in last 11 road games, 17-8 against pitcher with WHIP greater than 1.30 last 25 games, 14-5 as Under dogs in last 19. Like the UNDER.

Chicago Cubs at White Sox
The cross town rivalry has been all North this season and the Cubs look to continue their dominance over the South for today's match up. The Sox will send left hand pitcher Hector Santiago. He does pitch quality at home, 3 out of 4, but the Sox are 1-3 in those starts. White Sox 3-7 at current moneyline, 5-11 at current Total, 18-32 after a loss, consecutive 3 losses or more 7-11 and inter league record 5-8. White Sox are 2-8 in last 10 games.  The Cubs Matt Garza is the top money pitcher in their rotation. His last 4 starts have all been quality and the Cubs are 5-2 in his last 7 starts. They are also 11-6 in inter league games. Cubs are rolling winning 4 series out of last 5, the only losing series against the tough Oakland team was both 1 run losses,  the Cubs have momentum going. Go with Garza and the Cubs

Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians
Doug Fister going for the Tigers. He is 6-5 with 3.80 ERA and his games have been trending Under. Doug's last 10 games have gone O/U 3-7 and he is pitching quality games 12 out of 17.  However the Tigers are not hitting behind him and much of his quality starts have ended in ND's and losses. The Tigers may have better luck at Cleveland against Corey Kluber with 6 quality starts out of 13 and O/U 9-4. Kluber is also O/U 4-2 against AL Central and O/U 6-3 as Underdog.

Oakland A's at Kansas City Royals
A's pitcher A.J. Griffin on the mound. Coming off a non quality start no decision and a rare Over on the Total. Griffin has been excellent bounce back pitcher and on the road pitching O/U 3-6, overall O/U 6-11 and last 12 starts have gone O/U 2-10. The Royals pitcher Luis Mendoza is overall O/U 6-7, at home 3-4, but O/U 1-3 against AL West and O/U 0-2 in day games.  Luis is also coming off a poor non quality start with likely improvement in this start.

Pittsburgh Pirates at Chicago Cubs
The Pirates are rolling with best win record and top money team in baseball by far. Pittsburgh has made twice as much money as second best Boston and close behind Oakland. The numbers show Pirates win with pitching, no#1 in starters and no#4 in bullpen, however their hitting ranks #23 just a notch above the Cubs. Chicago Cubs getting money on today's line with numbers getting tighter toward game time. Take the early line on Cubs as the small home dog.

Happy 4th everybody.

Baltimore Orioles at Chicago White Sox
We got 2 lefties going on the mound. The O's will send  Zack Britton, he's pitched 4 games so far without a quality start, but O's are 2-2.  The Sox will go with Jose Quintana who is a better road pitcher and should be faded at home. Jose does look to improve today, but don't think he'll get the decision. 3 quality games out of 8 starts and Chicago is 2-6 when Quintana takes the mound. Baltimore 26-18 as favorites. The O's score almost 2 runs more per game off lefties then Chicago.

Milwaukee Brewers at Washington Nationals
The Brewers stopped their bleeding and came up big against Nationals, after the departure of ace Stasburg, as +240 Underdog. As it was an unexpected win in game 1 this one has a bit more edge with Milwaukee pitching, but more so than taking Milwaukee on moneyline consider the Total set at 8. Kyle Lohse is very much in form coming into July. A proven work horse of a pitcher able to get deep into games. Russ Detwiler for the Nats is not nearly as good as Lohse, but considering the home field and the Brewers not hitting well may very likely keep this a low scoring affair.

Detroit Tigers at Toronto Blue Jays
As the Tigers fall behind Cleveland in AL Central Toronto notched their 7th consecutive home win regaining their record to .500. The Tigers hope to bounce back behind Doug Fister on the mound. Fister has been absolute quality with 12 strong starts out of 16 and the results are same at home and away. However team wins have eluded the Tigers with Fister. Doug Fister is one of the biggest money loser in Detroit rotation and road numbers at 37% is not good at all.  Toronto with send Chien Ming Wang who was knocked out in Boston. Wang with limited innings is a fill in who was promised one start with the rest pending performance and here he is making his 5th start. He is 2 quality starts out of 4, but the Jays have gone 3-1 losing the last one. Though Wang is still a hard read and Fister is a tough customer the strength of Toronto at the Rogers Center just seems over powering to any comer. The Tigers have been sliding 3-7 in last 10 games playing below .500 away from Comerica. Toronto 23-17 at home, 23-11 when total is 9 to 9.5 go with the home dog Toronto Blue Jays.

Baltimore Orioles at Chicago White Sox.
Interesting line with the South Siders as a slight Dog or is it O's as a slight Favorite. Chicago sending John Danks returning from arthroscopic shoulder surgery last year has gone 7 games with 1-5 record (2-5 team record), but he is pitching strong at home. He's pitched 3 games at home with 1-1 record 211 ERA and 0.073 WHIP.outstanding number.  Baltimore's Jason Hammel is 7-4, but not nearly as strong as Danks pitching at home. I don't think Danks will contain Baltimore he pitching in a declining spot. Chicago is a fade team and Hammel is much better away from Camden Yard. Chicago White Sox 1-7 after a shutout. Go with the O's lay the small juice.

Colorado Rockies at Washington Nationals
Let's get started with the early day game. Rox finally snap their losing streak and did it in strong fashion, 7-1 win over the Nationals knocking out Dan Haren in 3 innings, and Colorado starter Jhoulys Chacin went 7 strong innings scattering 5 hits and no runs. The pen has been preserved and the Rockies will send another winning pitcher, Jorge De La Rosa. Rockies are 10-5 when De La Rosa takes the mound and he is their top money winning starter. Although De La Rosa is pitching in fine form 4 of his losses have come on the road. Washington pitcher, Ross Detwiler, is losing money for his backers, at home he is 1-3. However he is pitching quality games at home. The take on this game with two lefty pitchers both teams are averaging only 3 runs per game. This match up is also extremely Under at 77% in Washington. Go with the Under

Los Angeles Dodgers at San Diego Padres
Games are getting on the back burner with the Stanley Cup happening. (Consider the Under in this game) But we do have this NL West match with Dodgers down 2-0 in this series. L.A. ace  Kershaw didn't get it done and now it's up to Zack Greinke. He's had trouble on the road and this is the site where Zack was involved in bench clearing altercation that put him in DL. Facing Edinson Volquez and Dodgers stock down quite a bit. I buy into L.A. with one of great arm in baseball. Yes, the Padres have had their way with the Dodgers up to his point, but pitching is always a key component where the Dodgers hold advantage today.
Go with Greinke to have a dominant game.

Pittsburgh Pirates at Los Angeles Angeles
The Angeles are dangerous paper team. With line up capable of pummeling any team, but that has not been the case in many of their games. Jerome Williams on the mound for the Angels, he has not been quality in recent games and L.A. has lost 8 of his 10 home games. Lariano for the Pirate is stable at home and away. Go with the road dog.

The battle of AL West continues and this game is one of those rare reverse line movement. This appears to be a good pitching match up with Julio Teheran for the Braves and Jason Marquis for the Padres. It seems the Braves have been expose to West coast pitching, but they did break out in the last game against the Dodgers. Atlanta is O/U 21-14 on the road and Padres bats are hot. San Diego also boast better Over record at home. Julio O/U 5-2 on the road.

The Jays return to Toronto and if you recall their power surge was just taking off before their road trip. Justin Grimm has been pitching quality games for Texas, but his off game has come on the road. That not to say Josh Johnson is on top of his game, he's far from it, no wins yet. The Jays have one win to show for his 6 appearances and the Rangers hit right hand pitchers almost a run better. These teams went through a marathon 18 inning game and burned their pens. The Total has gone down 0.5 to 9 and taking the better Over.

S.F. Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks
The line on this game tells an interesting tale of Giants taking this game for a rare road win with Madison Bumgarner taking the hill.  The home team, Diamondbacks, will send Trevor Cahill.  These two pitchers met back in 4/30 at Chase Field in a pitchers duel  Arizona has been the money team thus far and both pitchers are in a position to improve from their last games. The 10-18 S.F. road record is undeniable and Bumgarner has not produced a win in last 3 starts, but the Giants do play their best game against NL West. This one in a tight line to the Giants and Under

Arizona Diamondbacks at St. Louis Cardinals
Two power teams meet for the fourth game of their series. First game 1-7 Cards, second game  7-6 Zona in extra, third game 10-3 Zona, all three games have gone Over the Total. Today we get a low 7.5 with Kennedy and Miller. Both pitchers have been quality, but this number looks to get crushed.
