Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles
The Blue Jays lose one in Camden Yards and the Orioles halt their losing streak at 6. We move on to game two of this series. Baltimore may have stopped their losing streak, but it wasn't a sound win. Starter Bud Norris did not last, but neither did Toronto's Esmil Rogers who lasted little over 4 inning and both teams taxed the pen. The bats came alive in this game with combined 28 hits. Today the pitching should improve with Mark Buehrle and Miguel Gonzalez. Toronto with Buehrle is not as good on the road as he is at home, but still pitching 50 percent quality games, winning 50 percent and absolute Under is a tough customer. Miguel Gonzalez is killing it at home. Looks to be a tight game and this match up goes Under

Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants
The game is at AT&T park and the weather looks good, mild wind nothing new to this stadium. The pitcher for L.A. is Edinson Volquez 9-12, 5-5 away, though he is pitching better at home his record is better on the road. Mostly due to the Dodgers giving him tons of run support. The average total for games Volquez starts away is 10.73, including his San Diego days, and he is 50/50 so he gets runs and gives up runs as well. San Francisco will send Tim Lincecum 10-14, 5-6 at home and team record at home is 7-8. Tim is coming off a loss at New York Yankees, but he has 5 prior starts has the Giants winning all 5. The Dodgers are alternating their line up resting players and the Giants at home hold advantage. They have won 4 out of 6 against the Dodgers in September meetings. Going with the Giants and Over the low number.

Oakland A's at Los Angeles Angeles
Got the Angels ace Jered Weaver on the mound today. Though Jered's numbers are not that imposing his home starts are outstanding. L.A. is 7-4 with Weaver starting at home and his starts have been over 70% quality games. The Angels is showing what this team is capable and though this season is done the late run has the Angels winning 9 series in a row since losing to Cleveland back in 8/19 to 8/23 and the Halos can very well make it 10 series with a win over Oakland, they've already beat the A's recently in Oakland. Oakland will send Dan Straily who is on a roll. He has logged 4 straight wins and ND, which the A's won, giving Oakland 5 straight wins with Straily starting. With Oakland clinching the West one would expect a regression period, making L.A. a good wager, but this Oakland team seems to be going pedal to the metal. Straily is also a road pitcher with the A's going 8-6 with plenty of run support. As good as Weaver is he missed his last start and I'm sure the Angels do not want to over extend him. Going to ride Oakland to break the Angels series wins.

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres
We have fair warm weather in Southern California and it will be a nice night for baseball. Taking the game at PetCo Park with Eric Stults taking the mound at home, he is 9-13 overall 5-4 at home. What makes his home start so different?, considering it's only a 1 game differential. His 11 quality starts out of 14 at home is outstanding. Arizona will go with Brandon McCarthy, he is 5-9 overall 2-5 away. He is coming off a win at home and he's beaten San Diego at home. The DBacks have given McCarthy support and the team record away is 4-5. However McCarthy has only 3 quality starts out 9 road starts and WHIP of 1.57 Brandon is also getting hit 10 in last game 11 before that. Backing the Padres at home to take care of business.

Texas Rangers At Kansas city Royals
We have a very good match for you today, it's a day game in Kansas City.  These two teams have played  tight match so far. The first two games has been a low scoring. Texas sending Alexi Ogando going up against Kansas City, James Shields. Alexi Ogando  was pitching out of the bullpen but is now back into the rotation and I expect him to do well in Kansas City.  The Texas Rangers are better road team and Ogando is better on the road at 5-3, Rangers are 9-5, he's been limited in his pitches so should be ready to go in this rubber game against the Royals.  Kansas City Royals sending James Shields who is 12-9 , but most of his wins have come on the road. Shields is 3-6 at home with Royals going 7-8. James is also sporting 1.42 WHIP at home compared to 1.13 WHIP away. He is coming off a rare easy home win against Cleveland, but his previous 3 home starts all ended in losses.

Got a great match up today.
Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates
The first of 2 series to close out the season. Last night, the first game, was a 10 inning thriller with the Reds coming out on top. They're back at it again at PNC with Homer Bailey for the Reds and AJ Burnett for the Bucks. Baily pitches well at PNC this is where he pitched a no hitter back in September and he is 5-0 at PNC since with 1.48 ERA. Burnett is absolute quality at home and his record doesn't show it, but the numbers are there. In this pressure packed game the run will come at a premium. Looking for pitcher duel.

Atlanta Braves at Chicago Cubs
It seem seems the Braves are running out of steam and their last 6 games have gone 2-4, losing San Diego series at home and Washington series on the road. Today the Braves send Paul Maholm who has been fantastic at home and not so on the road, 5-10 team record. It sounds like a formula for late season fade. However Chicago is still capable of dropping this one. Scott Baker with 2 starts for the Cubs looked impressive and may give Maholm a run for the money, but Atlanta to prevail and close this deal right behind the Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondback's season is done and the Dodgers are down to couple of wins for post season birth, but the urgency is lacking here and Arizona has always played tough against the Dodgers. Stephen Fife gives Kershaw little rest and takes the spot start. Fife last came out of the pen against S.F. Giants when they put of 19 runs, Fife gave up 5 of the 19, but he has pitched well as a starter. Fife is economical and has often pitched into the 6th inning. Still he is bit of work in progress. The Dodgers are 2-4 on the road with Fife on the mound. The Diamondbacks took a big blow last night against the Dodgers, but still have chance at taking the season series against the Dodgers. Pulling the Ace for extra rest might not bold well with Arizona either. Brandon McCarthy getting the ball and though too little too late Brandon is pitching his best games of the season. His home games have been quality and he deserves more than 3-7 Diamondback's record show. Arizona hitting .322 in last 6 games and Kirk Gibson is not going to hand the NL West.

L.A. Angels at Oakland A's
This game, not too long ago, looked like Oakland was going to give the Angels some whopping kick ass. Now the Angels are looking pretty nasty.  Despite L.A. at this point is looking toward next season there is nothing more satisfying than to take down the A's. That would be a statement considering Oakland is a contender, top of AL West and pulling away from Texas, 6.5 games ahead of the pack.  47-27 at home, they rarely lose. Tonight the A's send Jarrod Parker 11-6, but the A's are 16-13 which is bit negative with Parker starting. He is getting tons of run support and is a tough 10-6 at home. He has been quality 9 out of last 10 and his only bad start came against the Angels. The Angels will send C.J. Wilson who is absolutely money on the road and he will likely improve. There is also a good chance of less then 7 innings for C.J. so the pen will be accounted for. Still like L.A. to spoil one on the road with C.J. Wilson getting the ball.

What a difference a year makes. L.A. has taken care of business with magic number down to 5, but better watch out for these Giants. They played tough winning the game last night beating Kershaw and the Dodgers. Tonight S.F. sending Tim Lincecum I think the Dodgers will fare betters .
The Dodgers will go with Ricky Nolasco who has been outstanding in Dodger blue. Although Ricky is pitching great he is getting tremendous run support. We will go with the total going Over tonight.

Los Angeles Angels at Toronto Blue Jays
Back on Thursday after putting the posts on sideline. There are interesting development with low priced non contenders, like the Angels, going on bit of a run. Another noticeable team is Toronto 6-4 in last 10 dropping last 2, but the Jays were 8-2 in prior 10 games with successful road trip of 5-1. Both teams doing it with their bats and these two team match up Over 11-1. Garrett Richards taking the ball for L.A. 6-6 with team record of 21-22. He is trending Over at 25-16 though Under holds slight edge away from Anaheim 11-8. Garrett is coming off a quality start against Texas 7 innings 6 hits 1 earned run and no homer. That's about peak for Richards and likely regress at Rogers Center. J.A. Happ is coming off a win in Minnesota behind 11 runs form the Jays, but he's still not pitching deep and he has been terrible at home 1-4 and the Jays are 1-5. Amazingly all his home starts have gone Under 6-0. So this game holds promise of OVER, but the out come has been short. We'll back the Angels and watch the Total line movement.

Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati Reds
The Reds swept the red hot Dodgers at home, now they are in the thick of NL Central with Pittsburgh and St Louis. The home sweep not only propelled their standing, but also raised their stock. Tonight with Travis Wood and the Cubbies in town the Reds are overwhelming home favorites.  The Reds starter tonight is Bronson Arroyo, second in money for Cincinnati, coming off a quality start ND. The angle tonight we will take on the single run differential trending with Cincinnati and tonight's feature pitchers. Chicago Cubs RL 80-62 against Cincinnati Reds RL 68-76.

Toronto Blue Jays at Minnesota Twins
Again we look towards the bottom of the standings to find this match up. As with many of the bottom dwellers the common biggest weakness is their failure on the road. The match up will feature weak road starter against a good home pitcher.  Sometimes simple equation will lead to the winner.

Alright people get busy. We'll be rocking MLB, NCAA Football and WNBA today so hit me up.

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs
Looking at the bottom end of the spectrum. Brew crew vs Cubbies to stay out of the basement cellar. Milwaukee has this huge rookie pitcher Johnny Hellweg, 6'9" 205Lbs throwing 97 mph fastballs. He hasn't show results, but showed dominance in minor level and should hold up better than what he's produced. Chicago will go with Jake Arieta who is more seasoned and proven product, but still lacking consistency in stringing quality starts. The Brewer has played the Cubs well and we will go against the line movement for a shot at the road dog Milwaukee Brewers.

Pittsburgh Pirates at St Louis Cardinals
We do have a angle on NL Central battle Pittsburgh at St Louis featuring Jeff Locke, who's had his troubles since All Star Break, against Adam Wainwright, who been hit against Cincinnati in his last two starts. These two teams are fighting for the first place and St Louis is holding advantage winning game 1 of this series. The line has swung widely since the opening with the Cardinals rising has high as -170 and dropping to -160. St Louis is very strong 42-25 at home and Wainwright, despite his recent losses, is high quality starter pitching deep and giving up less than 3 runs 75% of his games. Looking like a tight game in early going if Locke can bounce back. Jeff Locke is not going the distance and he was sent down to the minors for a tune up, I like that, and he is a road pitcher. What am I backing here in St Louis? Taking the First 5 inning to go below 4 runs total.

Tampa Bay Rays at Seattle Mariners
We recently faded the Rays and they won that game against the Angels, but the series was taken by the Angels and Tampa is still hurting. They've lost two series in their west coast road trip and now arrive in Seattle. I'm not sure if the travel from South West to North West is going to help the team because Seattle is going to send Hisashi Iwakuma 5-3 at home with 0.86 WHIP and the Mariners are 9-6 with Iwakuma on the mound. The Rays will go with Alex Cobb 8-3, perfect 5-0 at home, but 50% on the road at 3-3. He's not allowing much more on the road, but Tampa is not supporting him on the road. That has been the case for majority of this road trip. We're going to back the Mariners as the home dog.

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees
Classic battle in the Bronx. The line come tight and I expect the game to do the same. In this match up Boston will send Jake Peavy who has 2 quality starts in a row, but has not been consistent. He pitched 9 innings in L.A. Angels giving up 3 hits 1 run in vintage Peavy fashion then 7 innings against the White Sox giving up 2 runs, not as good as the game in L.A., but still impressive. Now in the Bronx he regresses a bit more. The game in L.A. was a anomaly and he's going to get hit by New York. That's not to say the Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova is going to improve, He went the distance against Baltimore 3 hits no run game, He will likely regress, but he has been money at home 6-2 and Yanks are 8-3. This one looks like the offense is going to out do the pitching and the Total is sitting on a low 8. Take the Over and look for both pitchers not to factor into this game.

Timmy is also coming off 6 innings no run game in Arizona and he is pitching much better lately. San Diego's Eric Stultz is without a win since July 21st, but that was a knock out against S.F. G-men at home 10-1. He also has two ND's which the Friers have won and Stultz is a home pitcher at 5-3 and the Padres going 9-4. We are backing Stultz and the Padres to take this one at home.

Tampa Bay Rays at Los Angeles Angels
It's September and the Angeles are now a spoiler. L.A. in their role is doing great. Like a heavy burden suddenly lifted off their shoulders new life has come to this team that had so much expectation at the start of the season and that's all fizzled they are playing to give the contenders a run for their money. The Angels are 64-72 overall, 32-37 at home and double digit off the leader. However the L.A. Angels rolling 9-1 last 10 games, going 8-1 in last away trip. Tonight's starter Jason Vargas is a sleeper with winning home record of 5-1. For pitchers under 136 innings Vargas is money.  His wins have come better then 1.5 runs so with Jason as home dog we're talking about reverse runline. The Rays are struggling big time and though they have returning star in Matt Moore to stop the losing streak, but Matt hasn't pitched all August. The Rays are due for a win at some point, but the risk side for the Rays are much higher tonight against a hot team with a good home pitcher. Tampa losers of current road trip at 0-4 overall 2-8 in last 10 games and their bats have gone cold.
