World Series Game Six

83-55-2 +35,290

St Louis Cardinals at Boston Red Sox
This World Series has been far from sensational from a betting stand point and this being a elimination game with Boston on the verge of winning it all this could be the last posted play for this season.  The post season story right now is Big Papi's bat carrying the Red Sox and that maybe how it's going to end. But anything can and will happen in Baseball. The featured starters tonight is young Michael Wacha, 7-1, doing it all in play off games, but he too gave it up to Ortiz. Luckily the Cards came back in that game to give Wacha the win. St Louis like Boston is very tough coming off a loss, 50-22 and 84-45 against right handed pitching.Going for Boston is veteran John Lackey. He too is pitching well and you could say he is rising to the occasion. This is a closeout game John would love to have before ending his career. This should be well rounded game and I don't expect both of these pitchers to factor into the outcome. Looking for improved scoring tonight and taking the Over.

World Series Game Five

 83-54-2 +36,500

These picks are becoming bit neutral lacking sizable advantage. We did take the Under 7.5 yesterday for a win, but that was a members only pick and did not make the blog. The blog has taken set back for the World Series, but we will try to right the ship with tonight's match up between Adam Wainwright for St Louis and Jon Lester for Boston. Adam was awful at Boston in his last start, but it wasn't just Adam the whole Cardinals team looked out of sync. Now that's past the errors has worked both ways and these two teams have been alternating wins and losses. Tonight Wainwright is in a bounce back spot at home and Lester is in a position to regress. We'll lay the favorite tonight.

World Series Game Three

83-53-2 +37,500

Greetings to all. This series is all tied up 1-1 and it's any body's game to lose. The home field at St Louis will be key to these young red bird pitchers. If your Boston you want a battle tested veteran to take the road. Who else fits that mold than Jake Peavy. He is past his prime, but still a warrior he will bring it on tonight. Joe Kelly for the Cardinals is one of the young guns looking to etch his name in history. I do like Kelly at home and both pitchers are primed to have a good start in this spot. I will give the edge to the Red Sox as this line has reversed course from the opening. The Red Sox are 24-9 last 33 coming off a game scoring 2 runs or less, 8-2 in last 10 games off 2 runs or less. Kelly and the Cardinals are 1-5 when opponent is off a game scoring 2 runs or less. Behind the plate today Dana DeMuth supporting Boston wins to the tune of 17-4 and St Louis is 4-10. Backing the visiting Boston along with Dana.

No fricken way! Craig was out at home. 4-5 St Louis ruling was obstruction by 3rd baseman Dustin Pedroia on Allen Craig. The call was made by our guy Dana behind the plate. What a double cross.

ALCS Gane Six

83-51-2 +39,540

Last night's pick with L.A. Dodgers went down in flames. It was Clayton Kershaw who crumbled on the big stage. Didn't see that one... I guess I'll dust off and move on.

Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox
Very tough pitchers going with Tigers money pitcher Max Scherzer and Boston's money pitcher Clay Buchholtz. We were on the winning side with Boston in the first match up, but we were lucky with Big Papi's grand salami to set up the late inning win. Buchholtz, who has been great, is giving up the long ball and getting hit. These numbers have not come down, but moved slightly higher in past 3 October games. He may recover and Scherzer has problem getting win's at Fenway. However Tigers bats are looking livelier and Detroit has been excellent road dog with Scherzer on the mound. We'll take two spots on this Tigers pick.

NLCS Game Six

83-50-2 +40,830

Los Angeles Dodgers at St Louis Cardinals
We were on the wrong side with this match up earlier in this series, but I still like all the reasons I gave first time around. The Cardinals are getting some attention from handicapping boards and you know the players are always on the look out for a good under dog. In their last match up St Louis starter Michael Wacha broke his trend matching pitch for pitch against Clayton Kershaw. Wacha has been impressive in post season, however this is elimination game with season on the line who else would you want to give the ball to? Clayton Kershaw is the superstar who is suppose to shine in these spot. The Dodgers are 8-2 in last 10 games with Total set at 6.5 or lower. 28-11 in last 39 road games against right handed pitching, 45-21 following a win, 35-17 in last 52 road games and the Dodgers are 11-4 when Kershaw starts on the road. St Louis also has impressive trend of their own, but this match tonight looks to play out like it's scripted. Go with the big gun Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers to edge the Cardinals at Bush Stadium to force game 7.

ALCS Game Five

82-50-2 +39,330

Boston Red Sox at Detroit Tigers
The Tigers exploded against Jake Peavy and Sox putting up 7 runs, 5 in the second, and defeating the visiting Boston 7-3. The urgency to take the home game is mounting and Leyland looks to Anibal Sanchez who was dazzling in game 1 at Boston. That was the game he no hit Boston for 6 inning then 4 relievers followed to blank the Sox 1-0 and though Jon Lester was solid he gave up 1 run took the loss. This time around Lester is not as good on the road and the Tigers are eating up lefties at home. The advantage appears to be with the Tigers. However we will take the small road under dog Boston. Anibal Sanchez  is no doubt pitching well, but coming off that perfect performance I do see some regression. Boston is also at their toughest coming off a loss and they still have late inning advantage.

NLCS Game Four

 81-50-2 +38,330

St Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers
Elimination game for L.A. at home. Say it isn't so! The Dodgers with their amazing second half run could come to an end today. This is the rematch of series game one and if you'd recall that game Zack Greinke was rock solid, but shoddy L.A. defense and lack luster offense lead to the Dodgers loss. Los Angeles dismal with runners in scoring position, but they do have one of their big gun Zack Greinke taking the mound. Joe Kelly is pitching well and away numbers are even better. However he has dropped his last two road starts and the Cardinals are not supporting his road starts. Looking for Los Angeles to come out aggressive. Greinke to hold down the Cardinals.

ALCS Game Three

80-50-2 +36,860

Boston Red Sox at Detroit Tigers
Here we are at Comerica Park or maybe at Nemo's Bar parking lot. No matter, grab yourself a cold one and order some food from the bar, get your seating area ready, we're getting ready to rock this game.

Boston and Detroit all knotted up 1-1. Today two veteran pitchers take the mound. The home team will send Justin "Mr. October" Verlander. He has been incredible in his starts, four no run games in a row striking out 10 plus hitters per game, the go to pitcher for Jim Leyland. Visiting Red Sox will go with John Lackey. The big Texan is pitching his best game since 2007. John last pitched Oct.5th against Tampa getting the win 7-4, however all 4 runs were his and only lasted 1 batter into the 5th. That was the second consecutive non quality start for Lackey.  It seems Detroit holds the card today with Verlander going and Lackey taking the third spot after extended rest. But I am going against Verlander and the Tigers. Verlander despite off the chart performance has only one win while pitching 4 no run games. The Bull Pen has been Tigers Achilles heel and Justin Verlander peaked with 8 inning performance. The Red Sox are 20-7 after opponent scores 5 runs or more, 5-2 away against team with .600 or better home win percentage, 9-1 as playoff Under dog of +110 to +150. Detroit Verlander 2-10 in last 12 starts, 2-6 as post season favorites and 1-6 in Verlander starts after scoring 5 runs or more.

NLCS Game Three

79-50-2 +35,710

Ladies, fellas, the Red Sox answered at Fenway in classic October fashion. It's great for the fans, but we're not in it for the adrenaline so let's see if we can get a easier one tonight. You know it's never easy.

St Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers
L.A. is on the ropes. The meat of Dodgers line up looked pitiful in their last game against Michael Wacha that ended 1-0 loss at Bush Stadium. Los Angeles burned their dual aces, Greinke and Kershaw, and now rely on third spot starter Hyun Jin Ryu. He was a bit shaky in his last start against Atlanta, 13-6 Dodgers win, Ryu gave up 4 of Atlanta's 6 runs in the first 3 innings. Also considering L.A. not scoring against St Louis pitching is alarming especially with Adam Wainwright  who has given up only 2 runs in last 3 starts dating back to Sep. 28th. Matter of fact Wainwright starts have the Cardinals winning 7 games in a row. However Los Angeles back on their home turf at Chavez Ravine with biggest Korean population in the U.S. Ryu looks poised to get back in form. Wainwright is a warrior on the road with the Red Birds going 12-5, better then 11-6 at home, but he is coming off a 9 inning performance and is in a spot to regress. Ryu on the other hand is in a bounce back spot, 11-5 team record at home, with the crowd behind him. Although I don't like first year pitchers on big stage this kid is not really a rookie, similar to other pitchers arriving from Japan and Taiwan, also St Louis not that familiar with him. The Dodgers have already beaten Wainwright and company at Dodgers stadium. Look to stop the slide.

ALCS Game Two

78-50-2 +34,710

Detroit Tigers at Boston Red Sox
Chilly October game fitting of championship series. This raucous crowd was silenced by Sanches and company of Detroit relievers shutting down the Red Sox offense to take care of business in game one 1-0. Jim Leyland knows he can cripple Boston Red Sox by taking this game in Fenway. He will send their top money pitcher in Max Scherzer, 22-3, 10-2 away, no other Detroit pitcher has made more money. Catching Boston after a shut out, last time it happened was interestingly against Detroit on Sept. 2nd, it turned out to be a low scoring Boston win. Max is definitely a Under pitcher on the road. Clay Buchholtz, like other Boston pitchers, is tough at home and pitching over 60% Under. Boston is one of the best bounce back team in baseball. We look for a tight game, home win for Boston.

That was a blow with Dodgers blowing all the opportunities to win game one.

Los Angeles Dodgers at St Louis Cardinals
The Dodgers are hurting now, Rameirz got drilled last night and he's not 100% game time decision.  Ethier is strained and he's out, but we do have the best pitcher in baseball going for the Dodgers in Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw performs better on the road and he is in a spot to improve.  The trend on Under has been undermined by the low number set for this game at 6.  St Louis going with Michael Wacha, another young gun, pitching well down the stretch, but I don't like him at home and we will look for Los Angeles to knot this series.

NLCS Game One

78-47-2 +38,200

Los Angeles Dodgers at St Louis Cardinals
The road to National League Champion always seems to go thru St Louis and I don't think it's being lucky all the time. Joe Kelly will pitch for the Cardinals, 10-5 with 2.69 ERA, worthy of stepping up against the Dodgers. He is coming off a ND Cardinals loss at Pittsburgh, but throwing minimal pitches with offensive changes taking him out in short innings. Expect more of the same  with Kelly. The Dodgers will go with Zack Greinke, 15-4 with 2.63 ERA, coming off two losses in a row and in a spot to shine. Got the line early on the over night. L.A. Dodgers to take game one.

Detroit Tigers at Oakland Athletics
Another elimination game and the right to play the Red Sox in waiting...

Sup people? Stay on your toes we have reverse line movement. Oakland started out as a short home dog, now -106 / Detroit -104 at 5Dimes. You need to hit that baby. Justin Verlander gets the call from Jim Leyland, but Verlander's recent starts have ended in 4 losses in a row. It's not Verlander's fault his game is right on, giving up no runs in last 3 starts and all 4 losses are quality start. Needless to say 3 out of 4 games finished Under. Verlander is also striking out hitters in double digit for 3 straight starts. Oakland will counter with young gun Sonny Gray who was masterful in his last start against Detroit and A's beating Justin Verlander 1-0. Sonny was picked over veteran Bartolo Colon and his starts have finished 5 wins in a row. Both teams will throw everything they have into this game and despite the lopsided win and loss record for these two pitchers we will back Detroit in this spot. Sonny has regressed in games after going 8 innings plus recording no runs, occurred twice in last 10 starts resulting in losses to Seattle at home and Houston at home. Although post season is a different animal with pitchers evolving first year pitchers in post season has failed. We like battle tested Jim Leyland at the helm and battle tested Justin Verlander on the mound. Go against the line movement.

Tampa Rays at Boston Red Sox
After getting embarrassed in game one with money pitcher Matt Moore Tampa will send another money pitcher David Price to cool the Boston bats.  Boston will counter with veteran John Lackey,  10-13 and Red Sox are 14-15.  John may have lost his last start in Colorado, but Boston at home is tough as it gets. At Fenway Lackey has pitched 11 quality games out of 13 and hold 6-3 record while the Red Sox are 9-4.  It's never easy at the historical Fenway and at times the visitors are blown out. However second game of this post season series Tampa will send David Price who is pitching well and excels on the road. Price looks to be in post season form and Tampa will be focused. The key to this match up and what has changed over this post season is the total going Over. This game with 7.5 has opened Over, but declined towards closing. Games one and. two are supposed to represent low scoring which has bucked the trend and scoring has been effective.  Overall numbers across the board has late movement. Tampa Over 7-1 after allowing 10 runs or more.

Pittsburgh Pirates at St Louis Cardinals
Pittsburgh take out the Reds and earn their position against St Louis. Now it's AJ Burnett to keep the Pirates in game. He's been great down the stretch and no doubt he is a battle tested pitcher. However I feel the Cardinals will have a better pitcher in Adam Wainright. Burnett's has been quality at home , but his road numbers are not impressive. Wainright in a spot to improve and this Cardinals team looks too much for Pittsburgh today.

Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates are looking at destiny tonight. The perennial Under dogs of National League Central this Pirates have held first or second place all season long. They have not been here since the famed early 90's. They have accumulated 56 home wins. They should go to the post season the Bucks have already swept the Cincinnati Reds at their home stadium, they deserve it... As much as I'd like to buy into all that the Reds starter Cueto has been very good at PNC Park. Although Lariano is fantastic at home Cincinnati did hit him here at PNC. The scenario for this spot is very much up for grabs and the Reds can steal one in Pittsburgh right under the public eye. Let the game begin.
