The Blue Jays have a winning record in tough  AL East, their rotation in most part have a winning record, and winning record against winning teams. However RA Dickey is bleeding money. Cleveland is still rolling strong.  Carlos Carrasco went all the way at Detroit and may not duplicate that performance, but he's god enough here. Lay the short line

Taking the Brew Crew over the Blue Crew. Junior Guerra takes the ball for Milwaukee and that's who we like. 4 quality starts out of 5. Brewers 5-2 in Junior's last 7 starts. Milwaukee 8-2 overall with Junior on the mound. He is the top money pitcher in the Brewers rotation. Brock Stewart starting for the Dodgers came up the fast track, but may not be ready. He'll be on a short leash. Taking Milwaukee.

Texas Rangers at New York Yankees
Coming off an extended game these two teams battled after the long rain delay and Texas came back in the 9th to take the game.  The Ranger are rolling and Cole Hamels is in good position to get his first win against the Yankees.  The Yanks will send CC Sabathia who is pitching in the money. Sabathis has pitched 8 quality starts out of 12 and definately helping his club, but most of that effort is coming away from Yankee Stadium. Sabathia in a spot to improve today, but winning this one is a tall order. We'll lay the short favorite here. Texas 11-4 with Hamel on the mound. Hamel 5-0 away. Rangers 14-3 in last 17 road games. Sabathia 8-18 after opponents score 5 runs or more in previous game.

L.A. Dodgers at Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates have dominated the Dodgers for quite awhile. You can go back three seasons and it continues this season. We're looking at 4 game sweep of winning record holder, 41-36,  Dodgers by under .500 losing record holder, 37-39,  Pirates.  L.A. before this series had 6 games win streak going so they were not slumping. Sweeps are hard to come by and sweeping a winning team is tougher yet. Now the Pirates are making this task a little harder by sending a losing pitcher to the mound, Francisco Liriano 4-7, Lariano is coming off a game where he gave up no home runs, which usually means he's going to give it up here. The Dodger need to regain their poise. Liriano starting the Pirates have lost 7 out of last 8. Dodgers are 11-6 in day games.

Cleveland Indians at Detroit Tigers
The Indians are on best win streak of 8 and blowing teams out. Detroit is falling back to .500 and Justin Verlander takes the mound to lift the Tigers. Verlander has been good and very good at home, 7 quality starts out of 8 with 1.05 WHIP, working deep keeping the Tigers in striking range. Verlander has yet to lose in June and you have to go back to May 8 for his last loss at home. As good as Verlander has been so is Josh Tomlin, perfect on the road. Tomlin has beat Verlander twice this season. Taking Cleveland on a roll.

I'd go with game action on the Rangers. Does not matter. Boston's Steven Wright is having an exceptional June and just coming off. 1 run 9 inning game against the White Sox. Look for Wright to regress tonight in Arlington. Texas 20-8 at current Total. 16-6 in June. 10-4 at current line.

Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles
Camden Yards will welcome Matt Moore and the Rays tonight. Tampa is sliding, dropped 7 straight. Having a off day maybe a good thing, but the Rays last start was a lost opportunity to halt their loss and now they're on the road against the O's, 27-13 at home. Yovani Gallardo is pitching for Baltimore  and he has yet to have a quality start, but the O's are backing him at home. Tonight's pitchers are not likely to last and Baltimore is 8-2 with current line. Matt Moore 0-5 away, 1-7 in night game and Tampa 9-20 against  winning teams.

Seattle Mariners at Detroit Tigers
Tigers take game one and return to game two with their top money pitcher, Michael Fulmer 7-2, and Detroit has cracked above .500 in quiet fashion. The Mariners will go with their old workhorse,
 Hisashi Iwakuma 6-5, 3-3 away lasting 7 innings in all of last five starts. He is a formidable pitcher. However Fulmer has given up 1 run or none in last 6 starts and coming off a loss. Laying the short favorite.

Chicago White Sox at Boston Red Sox
We've got a tight line today with Southsiders sending Sale to the mound. Bean Towners going with Clay Buckholtz looking to bounce back. Clay has beat the White Sox in Chicago, but his quality game is lacking. Chris Sale has been money, however his last 7 has seen some decline. The line is holding even and White Sox pen is suspect. Going Over on this game.

MLB Post Season Monday

How time fly. Didn't get to post much plays this season, but we have an interesting October scene. Let's look at home field advantage and how it's over estimated by moneyline measure. The opposition's ability to play ball at this level will not be rattled with raucous crowd.

St Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs
Is there an changing of the NL Central guards? The Cubs look really good surging at the right time with the right pitcher. Chicago back at home 1-1, sending Jake Arieta, best pitcher in second half 31 scoreless innings, has not lost since July 25th. Good thing happen for the Cubs when Arieta starts, but St Louis Cardinals with Michael Wacha starting is 12-5 better than 70% away. Wacha has been beat up lately, but post season is a different animal. Michael's been here he knows he just needs to keep his boys in striking distance. We roll with the Cards taking the Run Line.

Philadelphia Phillies at Washington Nationals
The Nats ride their season with highs and mostly lows. They beat the visiting Phillies just over 1 week ago in Philadelphia then returned home to take 3 out of 4 from Miami only to get swept by Baltimore in their following series. Philadelphia is back and Phillies hope to give some paypback. Phillies pitcher Jerad Eickhoff has been smooth in his last two starts. Trending better away. Washington sending Jordan Zimmerman. He is in a spot to improve and the Nats are 13-5 ijn his home starts. We're going to look for good pitching match up tonight.

We have an interesting pitching match up tonight with Salazar going for the Indians and Santana for the Twins. The books seem confused here with the Indians coming in as a road favorite. The Twins are falling, but thrives at .500 and Salazar on a bounce back may not be good enough against surging Santana. I wouldn't count too much on offense here, but Minnesota looks to be in the right spot at the right time.

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles
Yes, yes, back to Camden Yards. Baltimore came out on top against AL Central leading KC Royals over this past weekend. The O's were the home underdog in that series, but the line moved the wrong waty throughout. Now welcoming the Red Sox the money has been moving with Baltimore since the opening. It moved from about -112 to high as -134 before pulling back. We don't see the advantage today. Kevin Gausman taking the ball has not factored in Baltimore's win since Aug.1st  He's pitching ok at home although the sample is small. He comes in after pitching a 1 run game in Bronx and with offense clicking there are high hopes However Gausman in a spot to decline and likely not factor in final decision. Boston's Eduardo Rodgriguez 3-3 on the road and the Red Sox are 3-4, but his performance has been quality away from Fenway. Boston 8-1 when opponent scores 5 runs or more in previous game and 6-2 coming off their game allowing 2 runs or less. Baltimore 2-7 in last 9 against left handed starter. 2-7 coming off a game allowing 2 runs or less, We're looking to take the win away at Camden Yards.

New York Mets at Washington Nationals
Washington making an push. Coming off sweeping Atlanta and Max Scherzer started the first of four consecutive win streak. He's back for another round looking to log a win. He hasn't done that since July. Although the Nationals are on winning track winning the Atlanta series is not all that impressive  considering the Braves free fall. Max Scherzer, the key pitcher in Washington rotation, is bleeding money for backers and it does not get better at home.  Jon Niese is not blowing away opponents he has a losing record, but the Mets are giving him tons of support and New York is winning games with Niese on the mound. He's in a spot to improve and the Mets are on the hunt. Mets away in day game.

Baltimore O's at Toronto Blue Jays
Even with that dramatic win with a walk off in extra innings the Orioles are reeling. Toronto has their top money pitcher with Hutchinson and he is at his best at home. Jimenez road starts have resulted in 4-11 team record. On top of all this the O's are losing at RL while Toronto is killing it.

Camden Yard games are one of my favorite. We look at Tampa coming in at  500, but in plus money. Pitching today is Erasmo Ramirez 10-5 who's record away is better with inflated ERA. Baltimore will go with Kevin Gausman trying to snap 4 game losing streak with O's going 0-5 in last 5. He's not pitching bad at home, but the results are 4-4. Ramirez 12-5 at current Total. 7-1 when opponent scores 2 runs or less in previous  game. Gausman 3-7 last 10 home starts and 3-13 on grass.

Toronto Blue Jays at Texas Rangers
Texas and L.A. are inches away in AL West, but neither one's able to take advantage as the Angels fall to Detroit and the Rangers to Toronto. We'll do it again with Yovani Gallardo taking the hill for Texas. Yovani posted two wins in a row with last win scattering 8 hits no runs, 4 K's and 1 BB in 6 innings at Detroit. Matter of fact Yovani starts have resulted in 5 wins out of last 6 for Texas. He has better than 66% win at home and he will need his A game today against the streaking Blue Jays. They are playing explosive baseball and they will send Marco Estrada who is better on the road than home. Marco is also pitching well and Toroto is the beneficiary of 4 wins out of last 5. Estrada looks to improve and the Jays are 5-2 in Estrada day games. Lay the favorite.

Kansas City Royals at Boston Red Sox
KC looking like it's in post season form. They may not score much, but they don't need to. The Royals back end is tops in MLB. The Red Sox are 12 games below .500 and sitting at bottom of AL East. Not only that Boston are losing more than 3 times as much as Yankees have won. Yanks being the top money team in AL East you would of won three times more by fading Boston. However past performance does mot guarantee a loss for Boston and today's money line is suspect as they come. KC's Danny Duffy is No#3 in Royals money win. He is rolling 5 quality in last 7 starts with Royals going 6-1 and Boston's Wade Miley starts have produced 1-6 record in last 7 Red Sox  games. Well Boston does play KC well and Miley's Fenway games have been quality. Duffy coming in on a spot to decline and Red Sox to take the opener.

Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds
We got the Red coming home from a long road trip only to find themselves hosting the Royals on 8-2 run. Both teams were off on Monday and the Reds at home are better than .500, but they went through brutal road trip. Cincinnati will send rookie Cuban Raisel Iglesias who is not a rookie, but top tier Cuban relief pitcher being stretched out by the Reds and still a work in progress. He's coming off a win and confidence maybe growing. However KC with top money pitcher Edinson Volquez on a night to improve is a bit too much for the Cuban and the Reds.
