It's mid week baseball and we look to remain sharp.
Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres
Pittsburgh is the team to beat in NL Central and there are 3 teams, St Louis and Cincinnati, all playing with more then 70+ winners. It's going to a wild NL Central finish down the stretch and every one of these games will count no matter who the opponent. I see all three of these teams getting money facing weaker teams. With that said the Bucks will send Gerrit Cole, New Port Beach, CA. product and pride of UCLA, he should feel pretty comfortable pitching at PetCo. Cole has not pitched much on the road, 20 innings, but 0.69 WHIP all 3 quality starts and all 3 games Under. San Diego Padres split the 4 game series with New York Mets, but dropped the first 2 of 3 game series with Pittsburgh Pirates. Now in danger of getting swept at home and their current home record is 2-4. The Padres 3-7 in last 10 in need of a win will send Ian Kennedy to stop the losses. Kennedy coming off a bad start, 4 2/3 innings 7 hits 5 runs, 3 homers, overall 4-9 and combined team record of 8-16. The public has Kennedy tagged for a fade, however, Ian Kennedy from Huntington Beach, CA. and pride of USC is not going to get shown off by a UCLA product. Though Kennedy is 6 years Gerrit's senior and never faced each other outside of MLB This Southern California history suggests pride will be on Kennedy's shoulder. Cole is the celebrated young gun and Kennedy is coming to his twilight. The line has been moving in favor of Pittsburgh and we will go against the grain in taking the home dog San Diego. The Pirates are 3-8 in last 11 as a road favorite, 1-5 in last 6 against pitcher with WHIP greater than 1.30, 0-4 in last 4 after Cole's quality start. San Diego Padres 11-5 last 16 after scoring 2 runs or less, 5-2 in last 7 against pitcher with WHIP less than 1.15, 5-2 after opponents score 5 runs or more.
SAN DIEGO PADRES +115 for 1 unit(W)
