Cincinnati Reds at Washington Nationals.
Starting pitchers: (CIN) Bronson Arroyo 4-11 team record 7-15
Arroyo maybe disappointing to most but he is a pitcher with potential. He did not get a decision in his last outing against Chicago Cubs pitching 7.2 innings 4 hits 2 runs 5 K's 1 BB and no HR and he is pitching quality.
(WAS) John Lannan will attempt another debut because of the ejection in his first try. He seemed to have moved quickly through the system so I would say his two seamer and change up must be getting better. I understand he also throws a curve.

Quality pitching 6 of last 7 is solid. Backing Reds.

Cook and the Rox are in Florida facing Olsen and the Marlins. Olsen will probably do better than his last outing maybe work 6 innings or so and keep things interesting. Cook on the other hand is coming off a gem and duplicating his last outing would be a tall order, but he is throwing with sinking action that's producing ground outs in bunches. I love ground ballers and Rox are hitting pretty good right now too.

Toronto Blue Jays at Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Listed Pitchers: TB Andy Sonnanstine (RHP) team record 1-6.
Last outing: (L) Against Baltimore allowed 5 runs and seven hits in 6 innings, struck out 4 and walked three. His team has recorded 9 losses and 1 win in his 10 starts. Devil Rays have not supported Andy on the mound though he is eating innings, 6 to 7 innings pitched in 9 out of 10 and pitching quality 50% 5 out of 10. This pitcher does pose threat to Toronto, but hard luck pitcher on a hard luck team with bull pen that will cough up runs is tough to back.

Listed Pitcher: TOR Dustin McGowan (RHP) team record 8-7
Last Outing: (W)Against Minnesota pitched a gem allowed no runs with 4 hits in 7.1 innings issuing three walks and 5 strike outs. He was encouraged to mix all of his pitches to keep hitters off balance and strung two wins since making adjustments. He does have 5 games giving up 5~6 earned runs in his seven of his losses to go with 9 quality outings.

I think this will be a late inning game. The play is very popular Toronto Blue Jays with 7-3 record in last 10 games Tampa Bay Devil Rays playing 2-8 in last 10 games. Jays are out scoring their opponents by 4.2 runs in last 7 games while D-Rays are losing by 5.3 runs in last 7.

So do you guys like the listed pitchers to start the breakdown? I always figured numbers are all public information and you don't need to get them from me, but putting the perspective into a page is helpful. I'm a bit short on time so I'll get to the point.

Yankees at O's
You know when the Yanks beat teams by +10 runs and go on a winning streak they really look unbeatable. It's that two horse race in AL East and I have a feeling Yanks will be sticking around. With all the Boston & New York attention it's easy t0 over look losing division rivals so when Yankees match up with Baltimore most will take Yanks with money man Wang, but if NYY have a seasonal nemesis this year it's Baltimore. Take a close look at Wang's ground ball to fly ball ratio he's not getting as many to roll outs like he's was doing and elevating his pitches. Cabrera had his stuff going last outing and O's bats are coming around.

Taking a good size home dog in today early game.

Toronto Blue Jays at Chicago White Sox
Listed Pitchers: TOR Josh Towers (RHP) team record 6-6
Last outing: (W) Against Seattle allowed no runs and three hits in 6.2 innings, struck out 4 and walked two. His team has recorded a loss and 4 wins in five prior starts. Blue Jays have been impressive with Towers on the mound going 5-1 in last 6 games. Fast working pitcher is either on or off and not much in between and he has recorded 50% quality starts in those 6 games. Going beyond past 6 games his team has recorded 3 wins out of 12 games.

Listed Pitcher: CWS Jon Garland (RHP) team record 7-13
Last Outing: (L)Against Red Sox on the road allowed six runs in just 4 2/3 innings after issuing five walks and surrendering a pair of three-run home runs. He was looking to win one game prior when Jenks gave up the winning run to Cleveland, did win 2 prior to Baltimore but pen almost blew that one too and a melt down at home against Minnesota. Throw out 2 clunkers and Garland is pitching strong 13 quality starts out of 18, 5 quality outing out of last 7.

I know Blue Jays are rolling right now looking balanced with good pitching and timely offense but I not sold on Towers bring his "A" game today. Being on the road is another minus.

San Diego Padres at Houston Astros.
Listed Pitchers: SDP David Wells (LHP) team record 9-10
Last outing: (L) Against Phillies allowed seven runs and seven hits in 4 1-3 innings, struck out one and walked two. His team has recorded wins in four prior starts. Wells finds quality pitching hard to come on the road with 8 games he has registered only 1 quality start while recording winning percentage of 50%.

Listed Pitcher: HOU Wandy Rodriguez (LHP) team record 9-10
Last Outing: (L)Against Pirates on the road allowed 6 runs on 7 hits 4 earned struck out 6 walked one and no home runs. He was crushed one game prior in Chicago but 2 wins in 2 strong outings at home before Chicago. Rodriguez is a home pitcher recording 7 quality starts out of 9 home starts. His record at home is 5-2 with team record of 7-2.

I suspect the numbers will catch up with David Wells today. Padres pitching strength is diminishing getting hit by the Phillies at home series and getting hit at Colorado on the road series.

Houston is surging taking the series at home against the very good Dodgers and a rare road series win against the Pirates before that.

Drays at Yanks. I lost this match up back in July 12th as Yanks blasted 3 long balls off of James Shields that was more than enough even with Andy Pettitte lasting only 5.2 innings. Both starters coming off good games. Yanks schooled Drays on Saturday in day night double header with second game being no contest also lost Crawford for Sunday. Yanks once again poised to take the series but my contrarian stance will be a selection on the Underdog.
Placed offer for Drays +188. Check back before game to see if I get this.

Sorry for late return. I guess you know this line dropped 10 points and didn't get a nibble at +188. Money chased this line and people got burned. That's a lucky break for me and never chase fast moving lines.

St Louis at Atlanta will feature Live betting on MatchBook so I will keep tab and post plays most likely on Underdog propositions. 20:05 EST game time. I like Atlanta and Under 9.5 but we shall see.

I like Lackey he is a workhorse able to keep his team in a game, but Angels are playing sluggish ball dropping 3 road series dating back to 6/29 than played uninspired ball at home against Texas before dropping another road series to Tampa Bay. Good thing Escobar was able to shut down the Rays in their last game of the series or they would of got swept.
Yes, Twins did get swept by Detroit at home, but play level of games was much higher and all one run ball game. Minny hungry for a win at home will be too much for Angels lacking offense.

Closing in on game time for me. Let's do this!

Not a complete Oakland fade, but fade all the same. I wouldn't chase the Under 9 today that's very suspect IMO.

One subject I've been talking to some close friends is the impact of a Catcher indifference. When a regular team catcher takes a day off or when there is team catcher problem it creates a overcasting change to the outlook or consistency in Pitching, this is the case for A's today using Suzuki, which is huge when you consider how much pitcher is considered in a game. Unfamiliar battery will collapse a pitcher who has strung good games. A's dealing Kendall to Cubs and gambling on Suzuki is a turning point that will bury this season, you know they're counting on Piazza to be healthy for the 2nd half, IMO. I will admit overlooking the catcher indifference yesterday. And look what happened to the Dodgers too.

It's 13:50 PST now playing cat and mouse with the line. I'm going to keep watch but running out of time to publish the play. I was looking to take 2 units and now the price has gone up.

Many are well aware of Oakland woes going 1-9 in their last 10 with 8 consecutive losses A’s bats have gone cold. Oakland faders have been rolling, but Texas 18-30 record on the road might be getting second thoughts. Robinson Tejada is second biggest money loser in Rangers pitching staff and he will come in with a hefty 1.74 WHIP
Oakland A’s in need to stop the bleeding will send their top money maker Chad Gaudin. He may not be their best pitcher (10 quality starts out of 19) but his team is 13-6 when he takes the mound.
So am I taking Oakland? Well no, although this looks to be a good spot I need to see some offensive life from Oakland. Texas is 7-3 in their last 10 playing against very strong opponents.
My selection today is the Under 9 in this game. Texas O/U 2-9-1 in July with bull pen looking strong.
Tejeda O/U 6-10 Oakland have not scored more than 3 runs in 11 straight games. Gaudin Under record better than his team wins at O/U 2-14

Phillies at Dodgers with veteran lefty Moyer for the visitors and big bad Brad Penny in for the Dodgers. As good as Penny has been the other reason is Dodgers bring their hot bats when he's on the mound at Dodger Stadium. It maybe a bounce back spot for Penny and maybe he's over his blister, but Phillies are hitting healthy .319 against right handers (.354 against left). Penny sports 7-3 O/U last 10 starts, Totals at 8 or higher are 3-0 in last 10 starts.

The game I'm playing is Oakland A's at Minnesota Twins with two young promising pitchers Gaudin and Baker. Given the recent outlook Twin & Baker is getting the money for sides and it's picked up steam this morning. I made a offer on the overnight for A's +120, which was way outside the trading range, and got a hit this morning. Why Oakland? Pen is shaky and if decided in the late inning Twins have advantage or if A's are trailing late there's little chance. Edge in key areas all point to Twins, but A's are my pick today. I look for Baker to run out of gas early and though he has excelled he does not have the out pitch and stamina. I also think Oakland players are progressing under the radar as they have done in the past.

A game I didn't pull the trigger but did have a look of play is New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Tampa is playing basement ball but their talent pool should perform better than what they've shown. Now Shields on the mound for D-Rays is their No#1 guy which may not mean much with Yankees in town but his opposition Andy Pettite has some steroid speculation swirling around him. There are no proof but his growth sprout along with his wins combined during the steroid years are spreading the rumors. I guess there's some sort of crash coming off the stuff, which is another speculation coupled with Andy's pitching woes, and his pitching does not look like the stuff he's always had. I'm sure this is not just me watching with betting eyes there is noticeable decline. Tampa is so pesky against the Yankees but under +150, I did fish for it with +147, is no play.
I will keep tabs on Andy.

Minny at Bronx with two groundballers taking the mound, Wang and Silva, Yanks look to regain their footing. Wang is NY's best starter he had the ND rain out game in Baltimore and ND Yanks loss to Giants, but now he's back in Bronx where he last beat the Mets 6 hits 2 runs over 8 innings getting everything in the ground. July baseball sizzles on. What's on my menu today? The blue plate special is Baltimore O's Birds at Chicago White Sox. Baltimore pitcher Erik Bedard comes in 2-0 in last 3 starts with very good 0.70 WHIP and 1.80 ERA bats are coming alive batting .376 against lefties. Looking back O's took the series from failing Yankees and played tight against Major leading Angels. The problem here with the O's for me is that they will finish the first half on the road (16-24) O's top weapon Mora was out at the plate in final game against Angels getting a bruised left foot on that play, Tejada's been out since 6/22 and good as Erik has pitched his team record is 9-8, 4-1 away record also misleading as team has lost 3 out of last 5 away starts. First match up with White Sox after such valiant Baltimore effort against Angels may lead to today's let down spot. I will acknowledge Chicago 15-21 at home but they seem to have turned the tide on the road. White Sox have a bit of a momentum beating KC series and Tampa sweep. Mark Buehrle has been strong and pitching deep. White Sox are 10-5 with Buehrle on the mound and Mark is 4-1 in 7 career start against Orieoles.

Are White Sox the hunted? I gave this question some consideration and decided Royals are the hunted. A game I'm watching the movement is San Diego at Dodger stadium. This game with division implications comes as a rare Dodger home underdog. This is due to Young's sparkling record on the road combined with day of rest and tough road trip schedule with no rest for Dodgers. How about Quo? He's not consistent and unpredictable. Fundamental reason would give Pads the edge. I believe Dodgers will not fare well against Young tonight the other part of the equation is will Pads be able to hit Quo? Not much power in their line up Pads will need to manufacture runs even if Quo is not effective Dodger bull pen can shut it down for 4 innings. I still have time with this late game.

Texas Rangers come in swinging good bats Kameron Loe's put two quality outings back to back but it was the Tigers that took him apart in 2.2 innings (6/7 @Texas 11-4 on 9 hits 9 runs earned on 75 pitches) I may take the 10 total with plus numbers as well.

Marlins at White Sox is the tale of two teams on a skid. Hard luck teams taken by injuries, taxed bull pens and being emotionally drained. Is this game even worth playing? Not if you lean to White Sox there's no value and proposition is shaky at best with compromised production.
At first I liked the White Sox with Garland 10-0 in day light facing Mitre and Fish. Losing D-Train on Tuesday after 1 inning Florida pen is very thin giving edge to Sox in late game, what am I saying? Late inning losses have come at the expense of Chicago 2-5 in last 7 games straight. White Sox led all 7 games before dropping 5 of those.

On 6/08 against the Dodgers pitched 7 innings 4 hits 2 runs earned on 81 pitches and he has been very good. Blue Jays will be a force....blah, blah, blah, blah

My play has been getting better heading into the Summer and this is where I want to be hopefully En Fuego in mid to late Summer. This blog has become more for me than anything else BetCrimes is keeping busy and available at cappingthegame.com forum Batis is a busy working man. Reading audience has declined since Neteller US fall out and I'm not active in any of the public forum sites. My old friends maybe able to tell I'm still alive, but I'm not able to take time to discuss selections and angles on consistent basis. I guess I should get back on some forums but like I said it's more for me. I'm not trying to sway or push anything the start was to show selective process having advantage, but I no longer or seldom explain how I arrived at the conclusion like relating to a third party. If you are following these episodes I am doing my home work as I back up all posted plays and some un-posted one's too. Plays have been reduced from daily to not quite everyday, sometimes take few days off, but don't worry I will return and unit amount has been increased. Let's all have a good Summer.

Like the Rockies today against Houston Astros. Jason Hirsh for the Rox had a rough outing he'd like to forget the last time out, 4.2 innings pitched 8 hits 8 earned runs throwing 22.1 pitchers per inning, he said he didn't have anything. These games can linger in cappers mind especially when this guy's done it twice in his last 10 games, 5/9 in St Louis throwing 106 pitches in 4 innings 5 hits 3 earned but he's held his ground splitting the other 8 games 4-4 plus the pen has been remarkably good and bats have improved from both sides. Rockies 7-3 last 10.
Wandy Rodriguez for the Astros got knocked around too the last time out. He is capable of pitching better but has shown little endurance in May and Houston pen is shaky. Bats are not consistent with OPS jumping all over last 10 games. Astros 2-8 last 10.

I've taken a contrarian look at Yanks continuing road trip and they are in Chicago South Side today. Clemens was supposed to make his start but he's been scratched. It's De Salvo on the mound today. In the Red Sox game yesterday Yanks looked like they were in a dog fight and they didn't give up after loosing the lead. Scoring off Red Sox's top relief guy Okajima to get back in it and A-Rod blasting the go ahead homer was classic Yankees. For today's match up it might of taken a bit too much from Yanks to take on another struggling team in a similar situation Yankees were with the Red Sox series. Yanks have taken the Boston series 2-1 and comes in to Chicago winning 3 of last 4, but having to call up DeSalvo from the minors after not working out is a grasp for Yanks. White Sox need a win badly as they came back from the road 1-6. They will give the ball to Jon Garland and I expect him to step up for this first game. Only I'm not sure if he'll receive the run support. I'm going with DeSalvo playing through high wire act and minimizing damage while White Sox bats squeeze out runs to take this game in maybe something like 3-4 or 3-5 type final.

Sunday games

YTD 29-20 +11.05

It's been a nice Sunday Games. Weather is a bit overcast not much to do and normally I would preach against playing big game unless something pretty solid comes along. Another excuse for me is MLB in early June is not that big even with Yankees and Red Sox.

There is one more game but it is the Game. New York Yankees with Andy Pettite 9-5 number against the Sox he is reliable guy to keep you in game and may not factor into the outcome.
The Red Sox will call on Josh Beckett 8-0 with his team 9-0 he is the big gun but keep in mind Yanks knocked him around last time back in April and a early exit 5/13 (that was skin inflammation on his finger no big deal) This game comes when Yanks are struggling and every game is full of questions while Red Sox have that swagger. I would not be surprised of a 1 run difference but my play will be on Red Sox at home

Tigers are still playing tough enough baseball to beat most of the Majors they just ran into a buzz saw of red hot Indians and they will take out the Devil Rays at Tropicana tonight.
Durbin has been strong for the Tigers with excellent run support when he is on the mound.
Tigers are batting .306 in the month of May best in the Majors.

I was planning to attend this game but not sure if I'll make it.
It's the rubber match at Dodger stadium. Wolf is having very good outings this season and he is undefeated at home in May pitching 1.85 and 1.59 in day light. His opponent Rich Hill of the Cubs is having trouble after starting the season 3-1 with 1.77 in April. May has been especially hard, but I wouldn't say his stuff is all that bad lefties and right are hitting just 2.05/2.04. His day light number reflecting much of April is 0.69 anyway it wasn't the pitchers that caught my interest. The look of this series how it's shaped up coming into Sunday's game regardless of both teams winning 1 each Cubs are the hunted. They have been pressured throughout game 1 and 2, if you don't see it that way I welcome your comment, but I see Dodgers closing this one out.

I hate looking like a cheater here but that's the fact and line was moving towards 8.5 so if you stayed off after the line change no damage.

But smart thing I did was taking a time out instead of getting right back on the capping horse maybe making plays on over night line. In any case don't play when your upset about losses it doesn't help.

Hopefully it helps my pick. Angels with Santana at KC with De La Rosa is one of those games with Royals line looking sharp. Escobar takes the mound for the Angels against the South Siders and Sox will counter with their big gun Mark Buehrle. Interesting note to this game is both pitchers have struggled against their respective match up (Buehrle 1-3 4.16 ERA against Angels and Escobar 2-9 5.93 ERA against White Sox) But no matter pitching is setting the tone and both pens looks good to go. Expecting a improved outing with Escobar and the outcome to be close.

KC at Seattle will feature starter fill in and project in progress. Baek filling in for King Felix and Bannister is a call up who Bell said is expected to stay in the bigs for awhile so not too much emphasis will be put on his first start. Pen will get action in this game and I like the chance on the Over.

1-1 last night but won the bigger bet! 11-7 +4.32 units

I'm fishing for a good ML price on Braves at Rockies. Taking Smoltz on the road and if the line looks square to you maybe you caught Hirsh's last game in San Diego where he shined against Maddux. Jason Hirsh is no doubt a good young pitcher with a nice curve mixing in change ups with his fastball and lefties are only hitting .200 too bad Smoltz will look to redeem himself where he is 10-4 against the Rox.

Braves are getting -115 or about so I'm shooting for -110 or better.

Another game I like, but have not pulled the trigger, is BOS/NYY Over 11. How many Overs does the Yankees have? Karstens will tax the bull pen once again and New York enters another game where they're option is to out score the opponents rather than to out pitch.
Not ready to take this yet as Red Sox UNDER on the road is stronger than Yankees OVER at home.

Didn't take it.
-------------------------------------------------
Something about Weaver of Angels...I recall watching his older brother (now with Seattle) in amazement when he first came up. Array of arsenals he pitched with command and he could drop down on you with the sweeping side arm I thought he was going to be really good, but mediocrity in result will water down all that good stuff. Ok, no more talk of bad genes.
Jered had a late start and needs to put in more innings he is pitching well with no physical problem with his biceps. It's just those bad inning with +30 pitches that's costing him game.
Alright Garland will go up for Chi Sox and Angels are his nemesis. Angels are showing losses on the road, but showing better bat and pen is tops in Majors. Time to turn it around.

Giants vs Dodgers is always a good match up no matter how the two teams are in the standings.
Dodgers had owned this match up in Los Angeles but I guess they forgot to tell the Giants that last night (6-4 G-Men). 3rd of the series is another good one with Penny going against Russ Ortiz the heavy underdog. I like the Under in this match up both pitcher are able to pitch deep, bull pens are good and the money is pushing the number from 8 to 8.5 Dodgers recent Over run (4-1 O/U last 5) combined with strong home Over trend (7-3 O/U) and Barry Bonds popping HR's hitting .433 in last 10 games will give this Under better than fair value. Keep in mind Giants playing 5-13 O/U I like the Under, but also looking for better price with a higher total.

What is up with Matchbook!? They are refusing to give SFG/LAD TOTAL 8.5 and holding at 8 with Over getting heavy juice. I see Pinnacle offering Under 8.5 at +107, to non-US customers, doing me no good. I'm going to hold off for 8.5 and if it doesn't happen I'll have to call it.

Since I'm waiting on Giants/Dodgers total I'll put one more that's available to take.
Cincy ML at -104 looks good to take early.

I checked out the game early and chalked it up as a winner, WTF do I know.

Making a late addition, Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles. It's a square play on Boston with Beckett going against Cabrera. I do like Cabrera on the mound he eats up innings, but you have to watch his performance fluctuation he can get bit wild. I expect Beckett to rise to expectation he received when he first came to Boston and that is a high bar.

BOS -137 for 2 units(W)

BTW, Phil Hughes pitching for the Yankees have a live arm. Quiet kid cruised through Spring Training good enough to make the 5th spot on the rotation. Joe Torre said we should not see this kid early as he wanted to groom him in triple A unless the Yanks get into trouble. Well, Yanks are on the slide and they need to stop the bleeding. Looking forward to seeing the kid pitch in Bronx. I would back this if not for the inflated price Yankees bring to money line. I'd say majority has little idea of Hughes, but they are counting on Yanks being due.

I'm glad I stayed off the Under at Dodger stadium.

It's going to be a nice day in Los Angeles. It's a kind of day you want to pick up your bat & glove and head out to the nearest park. Hope everyone caught the Yanks vs BoSox series. Do they have game or what? The season is still young and that was just an appetiser keep your eyes on American League East.

I have a theory on Yanks and Red Sox, especially after a series like that, it drains the teams.
So we have D-Rays taking on the Yanks (Over 10~10.5 is a popular pick) Yanks will send Kei Igawa to the mound and he is hittable, but this is not my pick because New York lost the Boston series there is a good chance for Yanks to take this game regardless of pitching.
My take is on Toronto at Boston. Big Dog Blue Jays might be tempting too bad their pen is too risky to support any lead although I think the runs will be tough tonight. Boston before the NY series played out an Under series with Toronto and they are still a Under trending team. Toronto on it's recent form is not driving in runs. The key will be Ohka pitching as deep into the game as possible and he is capable of going 7 innings.

Blue Jays was the easy play and at better price, but in the end "W" is all that counts.

I'm also taking White Sox at KC. I know the Royals line looks sharp and they did it to me when I backed Minny, but when Sox get going they will string some W's and that's what I'm after.

Toronto at Baltimore is a interesting match up. Toronto will send AJ Burnett who is not locating and throwing too many pitches. I do not trust his arm playing on the road. Cabrera is looking like the O's work horse capable of holding his own at home. O's pen has been shutting down the opponents and line up is hitting RHP well.

Back to Monday again. Man, this weather is really screwing baseball schedule for lots of teams.
I'm glad not to have backed Angels this morning in Boston. Santana is getting killed again, but the Over is looking good with all the wind whipping around. Right now it's 6-1 Boston top of 4th.

I'm going with the total Brewers at Reds. Numbers point to weak pitching on both sides setting a high total in a National League game. I will roll with it.

MIL/CIN OVER 9 at -101 for 2 units(W)

Brewers being a road favorite is not right. Milton with the Reds might be a meatball pitcher, but the line up can out hit the Brew Crew and Capuano has little success in early season. Taking the home dog to bite.

MLB Saturday

Yankees travel to Brandenton today to face Paul Maholm and the Pirates. I think Maholm is headed for a winning 2007 season. He will face Kei Igawa who is known as a slow starter. Igawa is not pitching like he was in Japan during his Hashin Tiger days. He was a mid 85~86 mph fastball guy with good change up to keep the hitters off balance. Now he is throwing harder in the 90's and pitching off balance, according to Posada. I would attribute that to Igawa trying to impress his new team doing more than he should. Until he settles down I expect more of the same type of outing in his last game, hard time hitting the strike zone.
I've also learned Yankees will be without Giambi, Jeter and Matsui today.

Grapefruit League

I've got to watch couple of Yankee games, one at Legends field and another at Progressive Energy field, my feeling is the projected line up is not quite up to to their potential. I was expecting Yankees to run up the score against the D-Rays, but Shields did a pretty good job.
A-Rod doesn't seem to be up to speed and Matsui doesn't seem to be up to speed. The Pitchers are looking pretty impressive though. If I was feeling bit more daring I would go against the Yanks and take a shot with visiting Pirates today, I think you can get the Bucs at +150 or so, but it looks like good chance of rain and I have not seen Mussina on the mound. Going against the National League at Legends field today Torre might mix the line up a bit and give some of the young guys a chance to play. That means good value for the visiting Bucs with short distance travel from Brandenton. One advantage I do have being in Tampa is I'll get a peak at the starting line up when it first comes out unfortunately I'm not going to carry my computer around so at this point this game is a no play. Too bad there's no totals for the games out NYY games have been low scoring for the first two games which is unusual for March games and very likely to erupt soon.

Another come from behind win for the Yanks second game in a row! The rain did come, but it didn't stop the game. I'll be looking forward to the match up with Detroit Tigers on Monday when the new Japanese pitcher Kei Igawa takes the mound. Tomorrow's game will feature Pavano on the mound for the Yanks on the away game, but no wager here as it looks like a split squad will go on the road trip.

Legends Fields where the grass is Greener

Today was the first day of live batting practice. Chilly weather has turned around and finally it's starting to feel like spring. No Bernie Williams at Yankees camp I guess he's rejecting minor league offer as non roster invitee. Roger Clemens sighting was reported at Astro's camp I've heard he's working out with his son. Boston camp is a total media circus.
It's not like I have some kind of insight just because I'm here in Florida, but it sure is fun.
Live batting practice will give future speculation into upcoming exhibition games with some tell tale signs as to who will be pitching when. It'll be an educated guess nothing else besides who can tell how these pitchers will perform. Oh yeah, Pavano threw some live ball as well as Pettite and Moose. The hot prospect for the Yanks pitching staff will be young Hughes. I'll be back with the other pitchers tomorrow.

Smell the Grass....No, I'm talking Baseball

It's a cool Feb. night here in Tampa, Florida. Pitchers and Catchers will be reporting soon. I'll be checking in on Yankees camp and few other places within driving distance. My interest will be with Yanks pitching hopefully there's telling tales in the spring for what will come in the summer. Days will warm up and it should be fun.

CARIBBEAN DREAMS 2007

Here we are 13 days away from Pitchers and Catchers reporting to camp, but in the meantime Caribbean Series is about to start. We have Hermosillo representing Mexico, Gigantes will represent Puerto Rico, Aragua represents Venezuela, and Aguilas the Dominican.

Venezuela and Dominica comes in with momentum. These two teams will match up in the early game. Dominica boasts the big league talent, but Venezuela can roll with the best. Jose Lima expected to start for Dominica and I'm backing the high total to go
Over.

Under is taking in some money. That was expected with big number like this so don't panic, 6-4 or 6-5 type game is not unusual in the free flowing Caribbean.

Venezuela/Dominica Over 9.5 (L)

That was a good game, but no where close to going Over.
