Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Seattle Mariners
Working on several angles here but my main motivation here is Washburn's sub par start 44% Seattle wins 4 quality starts in last 7 producing 1-6 record with Over cashing 3 in a row, 4 out of last 5 and even the 3 under prior games Mariners gave up 6, 5 and 4 runs. Sonnanstine plain plays Over 12-5, 8-2 away and 6-1 Over in last 7 games.

Los Angeles Angels at Chicago White Sox
Jered Weaver coming off a home loss to Cleveland will try to right the ship against Jon Garland and Chicago White Sox. Jered 41% wins for Angels on the road compared to 69% at home is currently in good form pitching 5 quality out of last 7 with Angels winning 5-2. He is also good at rebounding after non quality outing, but the number I like here is his O/U 9-15
Jon Garland has 18 quality starts out of 29 games splitting 9 at home and away. Sox are not winning behind him and are 5-9 at home but does have Under advantage at O/U 4-8-2.

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox.
Daisuke Matsuzaka affectionately known as Dice-K is rolling snake eyes, three's and box carts.
Dice K leading BoSox starters with money lost. 5 quality out of 12 home starts, 3 quality out of 7 Aug & Sep starts and only reason for Boston having a winning record of 8-4 with Dice K at home is because the bats are out slugging their opponents. I think Boston media is right on Dice K being out of gas. Pettite gets the call for New York he is 12 quality out of 16 road games better than 8 out of 14 at home. He is 5 quality out of last 7 and Yankees have won 6-1.

NYY -114 for 1 unit(W)

Kansas City Royal at Cleveland Indians
CC Sabathia looks like a man on mission 7 out of last 7 quality starts. Indians are 12-5 at home with CC getting the ball he has not given up more than 2 runs since July 29th (only 1 earned run) for more than 2 earned runs go back to July 19th.
As good and tough as he is KC has beat him twice and he needed a shut out to get the only win this season with 1-0 score. Bannister for KC is the top money pitcher even though he was clobbered by New York in last outing. He is 5 quality out of last 7, 9 quality out of 12 road games with KC taking 8 of the 14 winners on the road. Bannister has beaten the Indians 6/6 in Cleveland pitching 7 strong innings and backers got a nice +200 price on that contest.

KCR +198 for 1 unit(L)

Arizona Diamond Back at Los Angeles Dodgers.
Here is LA's top gun Brad Penny taking the mound he has earned more than 4 times Billingsley, who is 2nd money pitcher, with excellent 25 quality out of 30 games, 14 out of 17 home starts and Dodgers are 12-5 at home with Penny. I do see rising WHIP and ERA in Aug & Sep and there are declining tendencies in second half. Arizona is 19 games above .500 and they are winning games, 7-3 Sept and Davis is Arizona's top money pitcher, he's made more than double of Webb, with 19-11 team record and 4 quality out of last 7 D-Backs are 6-1. He has recorded 4 wins after 5 ND's. Arizona is 4-2 at Dodger Stadium this season and have faired well running 3 seasons now at 14-10. Zona as dogs 4 times in Sept is 3-1.
Take a chance on D-Backs as more pressure is on LA.

ARZ +157 for 1 unit(L)

Tampa Bay at Seattle Mariners
This is the 5th meet of 7 games between these two teams. Felix Hernandez (12-7)will take the ball for the home team. He has pitched 3 quality out of last 7 and bit unpredictable as he alternates double digit hits with 5, 3, 4 and 6 hits in Sept. & Aug. but Mariners play winning ball with 6-1 record and if the pattern holds true he will have a good outing tonight. Mariners 10-4 at home with Felix. James Shield (12-8) will go for D-Rays. He is 6 quality out of last 7 games record of 4-1 with Rays winning 6-1. James pitched back to back 7 innings in Sept. and back to back 8 innings before that all won by D-Rays, but keep in mind the timing of his starts matched him with cold hitting Oakland, Baltimore *twice and Toronto. Seattle bats are heating up a bit. Mariners won the series in Tampa 3-2, won 4 straight and 8 of last 9 in Seattle.

New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays
Ian Kennedy is holding his own in the Bigs but I'm basically taking him out of the equation or factoring neutral pitchers rating for Yanks and giving Toronto the pitching advantage with Burnett in recent form. Since returning from DL in August, 6 quality out of last 7 starts and strong 8 quality out of 9 home starts. So the hypothesis is hot pitcher against a hot team winning 5 or more consecutive games I tip my hat to the hot team. Sure Jays have talents in their line up to chase Kennedy out but they have not been cashing in the runs. AJ Burnett coming off 8 inning 3 hit 1 run 8K's 1BB outing which I feel was a peak performance since August which means due for a drop tonight and he is susceptible to long balls. Jays are marginal 5-4 with AJ on mound at home and marginal 4-3 in last 7 games.

Minnesota Twins at Kansas City Royals
September has not been kind to the Royals starting the month splitting the Minny road series losing the Texas road series came home got swept by Yankees and now they are on the verge of back to back sweep against the Twins. Silva getting the ball has already beat them twice and Royals will send capable but hard luck Gil Meche to stop the bleeding at 7.
I think they have a good chance. Carlos Silva is pitching strong with 6 quality out of last 7. Take out the Cleveland game and rest of August is all 7 innings of work 2 runs or less two 6 innings 3 run starts in September, but Twins are 3-4 in those starts. His 11-13 and Twins 13-16 are combined balance of grossly opposite home 8-4 (Twins 10-5) road 3-9 (Twins 3-11) record.
Gil Meche has no wins to show for his recent effort you'll have to go back to July 20 at Cleveland and Royals are only 40% winner with Meche at home or away but if you notice O/U 4-11 at home he's tight at Kauffman and Royals record does not do justice. I do like KC here, but like the Under better.

MIN/KCR UNDER 8.5 at +116 for 1 unit(L)

Atlanta Braves at New York Mets
Braves will send Smoltz to the mound and he has 23 quality out of 28 games and tough luck record of 13-7 Braves winning 16-12. His team wins marginal 57% but only 2 of Braves 7 recent losses with Smoltz are more than 1 run. He is 7 quality for last 7 games. Maine has only 6 quality out of 14 home starts with Mets going 7-7. He has only 1 quality start out of last 7. Braves line up maybe little lite but like Smoltz at this price.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Boston Red Sox
Curt Schilling (8-6) 12 quality starts out of 21, 5 out of 10 at home maybe he's going to turn it up in post season but for now he's middle of the pack pitcher matter of fact losing money with majority of losses at -125 to -150 money line Red Sox winning 12-9 with Curt on the mound is not cutting it. It hasn't been easier 2-4 since Aug and 4.50ish ERA.
Here comes the under estimated, under rated 12-4 in last 16 Tampa Bay Devil Rays. I'm not feeling BoSox middle line up and Kazmir gets the ball. Top money pitcher for Devil Rays Kazmir with excellent K to BB has been giving up the long ball of late but good spot in Boston to bring his "A" game. D-Ray bats have been hot lately and I look for them to sneak this win.

San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies
Good pitching match up with Maddux against Francis. The wise old veteran 18 quality out of 27 games is in fine recent form hitting 6 quality out of last 7 with 4-1 record and Pads going 6-1 with 0.970 WHIP and 2.44 ERA but if you take the prior 7 games he has 2 quality 1-5 record with Pads going 2-5 making Gregg Maddux a bit more human. He may sparkle at home (team 10-4) but he's not all that away (team 6-9)
Jeff Francis 16 quality out of 29 starts stat numbers may not equal that of Maddux but that's understandable for a starter in mile high city. Had undefeated July with Rox winning all 5 of those starts, had 4-2 August showing some trouble traveling through SoCal, dropping one to Pads *with Maddux and one to Dodgers with Penny but rebounded taking care of Giants at the Bay and home.
Francis on the mound Rox are 11-4 at home 15-5 against RHP, 11-6 as favorites and 8-5 against NL West. Padres pen not all that scary in second half.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Chicago Cubs.
Lowe better on road starts 10 quality out of 16 games compared to 6 out of 12 and Dodgers are true to the term "win at home tie on the road" with Lowe 7-5 home and 8-8 road record. He was chased at San Diego giving up a Grand Slam to Cameron and Gonzalez crushed another. The long ball has been over a month long problem serving them up 6 out of last 7, back to back multi homer games but strike to walk ratio is excellent and batters are grounding out in droves. O/U 15-11-2 overall, 7-9 away, Aug & one Sept starts 4-1-1.
Jason Marquis quality differential is not much home/away the difference is team wins at home going 12-3 vs away 6-7 O/U is 12-13-3 overall, 8-6-1 home, Aug. & one Sept. starts 2-4. Jason also keeping it on the ground. I think cubs split the series here but also like Lowe to improve. Wind maybe blowing out but number looks too high.

Cleveland Indians at Los Angeles Angels.
Paul Byrd has been good this season matter of fact he is the top money pitcher in Indian's rotation. Not much differential home and away but he does show a much better road 3.49 ERA. He is O/U 4-7-1 away and only thing I don't like is Byrd coming off a complete game shutout. Escobar is 2nd in money among Angel starters but not much difference between Lackey, Escobar and Saunders. 15 home starts 10 quality and Angels are 11-4. O/U 9-17 overall, 6-9 at home and 7-16 as favorite poised to have a quality outing tonight.

We have two good pitchers going today. Joe Blanton 11-9 with a 3.88 ERA against top money earning starter for Angels Joe Saunders 7-2 with 3.61 ERA. Though this match up suggest Under implication with relatively high 9.5 Blanton's quality outing is less than 50% at 6 out of 15 games, 5-4 with A's recording 7-8 and importantly 5.27 ERA. Total O/U 9-5-1. Recent form 4 quality out of last 7 recording 3-2 with 4.53 ERA.
Saunders is also weaker at home with 2 quality out of 8 games but getting big offensive lift with Angels recording 6-2 while Saunders have 4.64 ERA. Last 7 games 3 quality starts 3-2 but Angels are still 5-2. Total O/U 6-2 for Saunders at home.

Happy labor day fellas. Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. We all work hard for our money, but you know what's better? Winning it!

Florida Marlins at Washington Nationals.
This game will feature bad pitching and not much viewing interest, but Jason Bergmann 2-5 is a low man on Washington pitching staff getting -130 on opening money line. He is unlikely to factor into the result with one quality out of last 7 with Nats going 2-5 in those starts. Nats are 50% (3-3) on his home starts and there are memorable wins, but it's few and far in between.
Rick Vandenhurk 1-2 has no quality starts out of 5, but maybe the game samples are too small and coming off good outings in last 2 games should help his confidence. Marlins to out perform Nats in early game.

Kansas City Royal at Texas Rangers.
Zack Greinke back in rotation with 2 games under his belt he looks good to go, 119 pitches 7 innings of work 6 hits no runs 1 walk and 7 strike outs, he is scheduled to go about 80 pitches and pen has been doing their job. Loe coming off a 5 inning no decision Texas win against White Sox and Rangers are playing very good baseball of late. Loe will be the key and his quality starts are low 9 out of 22 games 6 of those at home in 13 games but consider his recent form in 3 games with 16.2 innings of work 18 hits 11 runs only 4 earned 7 walks and 13 strike outs giving him 2.16 ERA. Loe is O/U 7-13-2 overall 3-9-1 at home. Texas boasts 4th best pen in the Majors. I look for a tight game here and hoping the weather holds. Head to head O/U 1-4-1 this season, all 3 games at Texas went Under and Under trends at Texas against KC for 3 seasons O/U 2-6-1

Early action big game with Mets 74-60 overall and good road record of 39-30 against Braves 69-66 and home record of 34-32 but known to heat up in September. These two teams in recent form is producing just above 9 runs average. Glavine looks hittable with 1.63 WHIP last 3 games and Braves hitting lefties .353 average over last 10 games up from .276 average. Smoltz is better on the road, quality and team wins, but he is pitching well right now with 6 quality out of last 7 only his team is 3-4. Come to think of it Glavine has 6 quality out of last 7 and Mets are 3-4. There has been 2 meets this season with Mets losing both and splitting Over/Under 1-1 but games are too old. This is what I think with money moving Over 8.5 both pitchers are wise old warriors pitching in September good chance of bringing their A-game. Glavine 5-10-1 O/U in away games, 2-7-1 O/U against NL East. Smoltz 3-8-1 O/U in home games, 3-8-0 O/U against NL East. This match up is currently 1-7 O/U in Atlanta this season.

Texas Ranger at Los Angeles Angels.
Rangers are surging and they will send Gabbard who is pitching very well. Lackey for Angels has been money all season but he is hittable and good at toughing it out of jams. The problem with Angels at this expensive price is they are playing uninspired baseball once again. After sweeping Seattle at Seattle they should be blowing out this whipping boy team from Texas but they are not and Rangers have been in it for this series. Can Angels drop this series? I know how unlikely this may seem at home, but do not under estimate a team on a surge.

This one fits the bill coming off a double header Friday playing a Saturday day game. Brandon Duckworth makes his return and he was looking good at his last minor league game 8/26 and pen should be stocked. Silva coming off a bad outing but still 5 quality out of last 7 working 7 innings in 4 of last 5. He should bounce back at home producing ground outs in majority. Twins also strong pen to keep today's scoring to a minimum.

NL East drama unfolds as games get tighter at Citizens Bank park. Mets will try to stop the bleeding with El Duque 9-4. Road games does not shine as much as home games, but 5-3 with Mets winning 9-4 is not too shabby. Let's not forget he has pitched 6 quality out of last 7 with Mets winning 7-0. Phillies Kyle Lohse since coming over from the Reds have done a good job matter of fact he is coming off a excellent outing against San Diego 6.2 innings 4 hit 2 runs with 84 pitches. Chad Gaudin is second highest money pitcher in Oakland rotation. His record is 10-9 earning his team 16-11 when he is on the mound. Coming off a excellent outing at Tampa Bay only allowing 1 run in 7 innings pitched, but he's not all that when he is home. 4 quality out of 12 home starts 5-5 record with misleading 7-5 wins-losses for A's. I'm not sure if he's turned it around with recent form 2 quality out of last 7 (6.15 ERA 2-4 record) O/U doesn't stand out but overall it's UNDER by 11-16-1. Minnesota Twins at Baltimore Orioles.
O's got blasted in their opening double header modern era record 30-3 Texas and blew the 2nd game leading 7-6 at end of 7th coughed up 3 at top of 8th for 9-7 Texas final. Time to start fading? Not for me with Boof Bonser and Twins visiting Camden Yards he is 3 quality out of 11 road games going 2-6 and Twins losing 3-8. He suffers against AL East 1-5 and has not recorded a win since June 10th last win for Twins with Bonser making the start was July 21 showing 5 team losses since. Twins have given minimal run support scoring 4 - 3 - 1 - 2 - 0 in those 5 losses. O's will send Steve Trachsel who is amending his starts to respectable level and he does perform better at home. O's bull pen did drop their ERA to 2.21 from 4.92 average in last 7 games (before Texas massacre) I think O's as a home dog is a good overnight take.

Today's pitchers have both struggled against their opponent. Westbrook 2-6 in last 8 against Tigers. Robertson 1-8 in last 9 against Indians but the difference is in current form. Westbrook has settled down and is catching a groove going 4 quality out of last 5. Jake has been going deep pitching 8 innings once, 7 innings 3 times and 6 innings once in last 5 Tribes winning 3 of those starts. Nate Robertson is not there yet pitching 3 quality out of last 10 and has extended beyond 6 innings only twice. Seattle Mariners at Minnesota Twins.
Mariners keeping pace in the West and today will look to sweep the Twins at the dome.
Countering to stop the bleeding will be Carlos Silva. His game is surging and has not given up more than 2 earned runs in last 4 starts. Last 7 games have produced 5 quality starts dropping his WHIP to 1.007 unfortunately Twins have not backed his game recording mediocre 4-3.
Mariner's starter Miguel Batista is the top money earning starting pitcher with his team recording 15-9. Mariners are 7-3 in his last 10 starts and he has allowed more than 3 runs once in those 10 outings.

We have a good match up here with Padres Chris Young (9-4) 1.93 ERA going against John Maine (13-7) 3.59 ERA. Chris since returning from his injury (left game early in COL 7/24 with oblique strain) he has started 2 games pitching 12 innings 6 hits 4 runs 7 walks and 11 strike outs. 200 pitches 124 for strikes 6 ground outs 19 fly outs with his team dropping both games. John's having some problems in August and I'm not listing his numbers but his game is better than that and I would take consideration with Mets offensive edge at home. Mets have not lost to Padres at home covering last 3 seasons.

Here is two teams going opposite directions and Brewers have gone 5-15 in last 20 games while D-Backs are 15-5. These two teams meet for a rematch after Brew Crew took the series 2-1 from the snakes at home 7/16 ~ 7/18 and 7/14 ~ 7/17 was the last time Brewer stung 4 wins in a row. Desert Snakes are 37-23 winning 61.7% at home, 41-20 as a favorite 67.2% winner. Home starter Doug Davis is excellent 9 quality outings out of 12 at home with team recording 10-2 record. Brewers coming off a melt down game against the Reds will send Yovani Gallardo 4-2, away record of 1-1 with Brewers recording 1-3. St Louis Cardinals in Chicago today. Cubs been playing the Cards tough this season especially in the cozy confines of Wrigley Field, but this is much improved Cardinals squad with much improved pitcher on the mound. If you watched the first game of this series Cubs had nothing over Cardinals they were evenly matched. Maybe the pitchers are even wash today although Marshall does not go deep and if that's the case Cards are the hunters on the heels of Central leading Cubs. La Russa will pull no punches in letting this series get away.
Sean Marshall 13 innings pitched in last 3 starts giving up 22 hits 15 runs 3 home runs (1 in each game) Anthony Reyes 18 innings pitched in last 3 starts giving up 18 hits 6 runs no home run.

I guess D Rays taking out Dice K and BoSox at Fenway as a +245 Doggie was a bit much for many. Will Jackson take the back to back road/home win? Will Byrd get knocked around?
Jackson might be raising his game but there wasn't much to go any other direction. He is still 3-11 with team going 6-16 in 22 starts, 10 quality outing with 6 on road 4 at home. He does better on the road than home where quality is only 4 with team going 2-8, 7.37 ERA 2.000 WHIP and most likely to give up the long ball. Paul Byrd is a road warrior 10 games 6 quality starts 4-2 record with team winning 6-4 but importantly lower ERA and WHIP.

Let's take a look at this pitching match up. LHP Jeff Francis 13-5 has been on a roll. Team record 17-7 with 13 quality starts tells you Rockies have supported him well on the mound. 7-2 with 8-3 team record on the road and his team is 100% in last 7 starts. 13-3 against RHP, 6-3 against NL West, 9-1 as a underdog. He will go opposite wily veteran RHP Gregg Maddux 7-9 with team record 11-13, 14 quality starts 6 out of 11 good one's at home and team is above .500 winner at 7-4. Last 7 starts are forgettable 0-4 although he's had 4 quality games and his team is 2-5. Rox with offensive edge and bull pen pitching well this dog looks qualified to win.

Anaheim Angels at Toronto Blue Jays.
This is a good one with young Joe Saunders going against Blue Jay's ace Doc Halladay 13-5 team 15-7, 14 quality out of 22 starts 12 at home 7 quality with 9-1 record team is 10-2, how's that for impressive. Bit shaky lately 4-2 in last 7 starts 3 quality and team is marginal 4-3. That could be trouble when bats are kind of quiet and home runs have dried up in August.
Joe is 6-0 team 8-1. Data sample is small but 5 quality out of 9 and 3 for 3 on the road with team going 3-0. His WHIP drops to 1.131 from 1.544 at home, road ERA 2.21 home ERA 4.19.
Isn't this tempting underdog at better than +155 or so? But Toronto plays Angels tough at 11-5 3 seasons overall 6-1 at home. I will go with the total to go Under 9 which is O/U 4-12 last 3 seasons 1-6 at home and these two pitcher are in good spot to battle it out.

Will the Bucks continue to kick around the Giants who were swept at home with the shutout in Sunday's game? I'm not sure when enough is enough losing for either team and it's never a good idea to get too high on a team with a losing season. I like the fact both Giants starting pitchers flew to Pittsburgh before Sunday's game to be ready for the double header and 1st game pitcher Matt Cain turned the corner with a win in last outing cooling off Washington Nationals who came in hot. Cain has been pitching in very good form not reflective of his record. Paul Maholm had been improving since late May but struggles have returned in his last outing. Day light also favors Cain.

Padres are struggling to get a grip on the road David Wells have been replaced by Wilfredo Ledezma coming from Braves bull pen. He will be stretching his pitch count but this will be pitching by committee. Maybe the change will be good for Wifredo I think he could tough it for 5 innings and hand the ball to Padres capable pen. Reds have been very good at Great American Ballpark in recent games and Matt Belisle is hoping to ride the good times, but Matt 6-8 with team record of 8-14 only has 3 quality starts out of 11 home games with Reds recording 1-7 .

Baltimore will counter with their best money pitcher Erik Bedard 12-4 with 16-8 team record coming in with 8 wins in 9 games all 9 games won by O's. Need to get some traction here. The early game tomorrow is Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies. Brewers will send a good looking young right hander Yovani Gallardo 4-1 with 2.55 ERA excellent SO to BB 47 - 17 and WHIP of 1.04 His last outing against Phillies was outstanding sitting down 14 in a row at one point and recording his third straight win. His down side? He is still being groomed less likely to go deep into a game, can get rattled rushing his game with base runners. Road games are producing 4.03 ERA and day games are 3.14 ERA
Jeff Francis will take the ball for Rox at home and he is pitching great. Top money maker for Rockies 12-5 record with team winning 16-7. He was knocked around in Milwaukee 7/13 but luckily Rox outscored the Brew crew and I think this will be a different Francis in Denver.

Devil Rays have not supported Andy on the mound though he is eating innings, 6 to 7 innings pitched in 9 out of 10 and pitching quality 50% 5 out of 10. This pitcher does pose threat to Toronto, but hard luck pitcher on a hard luck team with bull pen that will cough up runs is tough to back.

Yankees at O's
You know when the Yanks beat teams by +10 runs and go on a winning streak they really look unbeatable. It's that two horse race in AL East and I have a feeling Yanks will be sticking around. With all the Boston & New York attention it's easy t0 over look losing division rivals so when Yankees match up with Baltimore most will take Yanks with money man Wang, but if NYY have a seasonal nemesis this year it's Baltimore. Take a close look at Wang's ground ball to fly ball ratio he's not getting as many to roll outs like he's was doing and elevating his pitches. Blue Jays have been impressive with Towers on the mound going 5-1 in last 6 games. Fast working pitcher is either on or off and not much in between and he has recorded 50% quality starts in those 6 games. Going beyond past 6 games his team has recorded 3 wins out of 12 games.

Listed Pitcher: CWS Jon Garland (RHP) team record 7-13
Last Outing: (L)Against Red Sox on the road allowed six runs in just 4 2/3 innings after issuing five walks and surrendering a pair of three-run home runs. He was looking to win one game prior when Jenks gave up the winning run to Cleveland, did win 2 prior to Baltimore but pen almost blew that one too and a melt down at home against Minnesota. Throw out 2 clunkers and Garland is pitching strong 13 quality starts out of 18, 5 quality outing out of last 7.

Last outing: (L) Against Phillies allowed seven runs and seven hits in 4 1-3 innings, struck out one and walked two. His team has recorded wins in four prior starts. Wells finds quality pitching hard to come on the road with 8 games he has registered only 1 quality start while recording winning percentage of 50%.

Listed Pitcher: HOU Wandy Rodriguez (LHP) team record 9-10
Last Outing: (L)Against Pirates on the road allowed 6 runs on 7 hits 4 earned struck out 6 walked one and no home runs. Florida at Arizona. Snakes are back in the desert and fishes are out of the water, sounds good, but that's not how this game will play out. Diamondback's pitching came through in Chicago taking 2 out of 3, but they are toothless against left handed pitching. Marlins bats are heating up and D-Train is smoother on the road.

FLA +109 for 1 unit(L)

This was one of those game that had a bad feeling after the game started. Even with 2-0 Marlins lead in early game the tone of the game had Diamondback feel to it.

Drays at Yanks. I lost this match up back in July 12th as Yanks blasted 3 long balls off of James Shields that was more than enough even with Andy Pettitte lasting only 5.2 innings. Both starters coming off good games. Yanks schooled Drays on Saturday in day night double header with second game being no contest also lost Crawford for Sunday. Yanks once again poised to take the series but my contrarian stance will be a selection on the Underdog.
Placed offer for Drays +188. Check back before game to see if I get this.

Sorry for late return. I guess you know this line dropped 10 points and didn't get a nibble at +188. Money chased this line and people got burned. That's a lucky break for me and never chase fast moving lines.

St Louis at Atlanta will feature Live betting on MatchBook so I will keep tab and post plays most likely on Underdog propositions. 20:05 EST game time. I like Atlanta and Under 9.5 but we shall see.

There was nothing I liked so there was no play. Good game though.

Angels at Twins. I like Lackey he is a workhorse able to keep his team in a game, but Angels are playing sluggish ball dropping 3 road series dating back to 6/29 than played uninspired ball at home against Texas before dropping another road series to Tampa Bay. Good thing Escobar was able to shut down the Rays in their last game of the series or they would of got swept.
Yes, Twins did get swept by Detroit at home, but play level of games was much higher and all one run ball game. Minny hungry for a win at home will be too much for Angels lacking offense.

Bad catcher indifference example with Texas yesterday. DiNardo and Suzuki was experienced battery from days at the minors, but Yankees lose today as heavy favorites with Posada getting a rest. Moving on.

Did Lowe look OK to you at SFG? Matter of fact he has not looked OK in last 4 starts and has not gone 7 innings plus in 6 starts. Glavine coming off one of his gem and he has been looking strong, but Dodgers still swinging hot bats.

Closing in on game time for me. Let's do this!

Not a complete Oakland fade, but fade all the same. I wouldn't chase the Under 9 today that's very suspect IMO.

One subject I've been talking to some close friends is the impact of a Catcher indifference. When a regular team catcher takes a day off or when there is team catcher problem it creates a overcasting change to the outlook or consistency in Pitching, this is the case for A's today using Suzuki, which is huge when you consider how much pitcher is considered in a game. Unfamiliar battery will collapse a pitcher who has strung good games. A's dealing Kendall to Cubs and gambling on Suzuki is a turning point that will bury this season, you know they're counting on Piazza to be healthy for the 2nd half, IMO. I will admit overlooking the catcher indifference yesterday. And look what happened to the Dodgers too.

I'm fishing the over night line. Check back later to see if I got it.

It's 10:50 PST Tuesday morning and all I got was a nibble not enough to buy a hamburger. Who bets these amount? Mind as well buy a lottery ticket instead. I'm not ready to buy at market yet making some adjustments and fishing some more.

It's 13:50 PST now playing cat and mouse with the line. I'm going to keep watch but running out of time to publish the play. I was looking to take 2 units and now the price has gone up.

Many are well aware of Oakland woes going 1-9 in their last 10 with 8 consecutive losses A’s bats have gone cold. Oakland faders have been rolling, but Texas 18-30 record on the road might be getting second thoughts. Robinson Tejada is second biggest money loser in Rangers pitching staff and he will come in with a hefty 1.74 WHIP
Oakland A’s in need to stop the bleeding will send their top money maker Chad Gaudin. He may not be their best pitcher (10 quality starts out of 19) but his team is 13-6 when he takes the mound.
So am I taking Oakland? Well no, although this looks to be a good spot I need to see some offensive life from Oakland. Texas is 7-3 in their last 10 playing against very strong opponents.
My selection today is the Under 9 in this game. Texas O/U 2-9-1 in July with bull pen looking strong.
Tejeda O/U 6-10 Oakland have not scored more than 3 runs in 11 straight games. Gaudin Under record better than his team wins at O/U 2-14

Phillies at Dodgers with veteran lefty Moyer for the visitors and big bad Brad Penny in for the Dodgers. As good as Penny has been the other reason is Dodgers bring their hot bats when he's on the mound at Dodger Stadium. It maybe a bounce back spot for Penny and maybe he's over his blister, but Phillies are hitting healthy .319 against right handers (.354 against left). Penny sports 7-3 O/U last 10 starts, Totals at 8 or higher are 3-0 in last 10 starts.
Phillies have been wearing out pitchers Wainwright going 7 innings last night other opponents have not gone that deep in 6 prior games. Phillies 7-2-1 O/U last 10 games.

Going with a rare Run line, I think it's the first publishing for this season. The game is San Diego at Arizona. Rolling the dice with Diamond Backs and Webb looking to rebound. No punch offense shows pitching has to be perfect to contest their opponent. It's the wild wild west baby.

Bad choice!

We are back to MLB on Thursday. Current 51 wins - 31 losses winnings total +27.18 units

The game I'm playing is Oakland A's at Minnesota Twins with two young promising pitchers Gaudin and Baker. Given the recent outlook Twin & Baker is getting the money for sides and it's picked up steam this morning. I made a offer on the overnight for A's +120, which was way outside the trading range, and got a hit this morning. Why Oakland? Pen is shaky and if decided in the late inning Twins have advantage or if A's are trailing late there's little chance. Edge in key areas all point to Twins, but A's are my pick today. I look for Baker to run out of gas early and though he has excelled he does not have the out pitch and stamina. I also think Oakland players are progressing under the radar as they have done in the past.

A game I didn't pull the trigger but did have a look of play is New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Tampa is playing basement ball but their talent pool should perform better than what they've shown. Now Shields on the mound for D-Rays is their No#1 guy which may not mean much with Yankees in town but his opposition Andy Pettite has some steroid speculation swirling around him. There are no proof but his growth sprout along with his wins combined during the steroid years are spreading the rumors. I guess there's some sort of crash coming off the stuff, which is another speculation coupled with Andy's pitching woes, and his pitching does not look like the stuff he's always had. I'm sure this is not just me watching with betting eyes there is noticeable decline. Tampa is so pesky against the Yankees but under +150, I did fish for it with +147, is no play.
I will keep tabs on Andy.

Allow me to elevate. I like this match up with Baltimore at Texas. Veteran Milwood will take on the wild and hard throwing Cabrera. Milwood is pitching much better I think he'll give Rangers a chance at the Ballpark in Arlington. Cabrera throwing strikes is very dangerous but question is will he be throwing strikes? Texas bats are hungry after a shut out and if they can get into hitters count this should be Rangers game.

Chicago Cubs at Washington Nationals. Pitching for Cubs Marshall good numbers on the road in a rebound spot. Pitching for Nationals Bergman came out early with limited pitch count in Atlanta 6/25 and got knocked out in Pittsburgh 6/30 with command issues. I wouldn't bet on him to be well today although I don't think the starters will get the decision. Cubs are still surging and getting closer to Brewers. Brew are failing in Pittsburgh as I write. Chicago Cubs takes this match.

Angels with Escobar at Rangers with Tejeda. Watch out for this game I think Rangers are a live dog. Angels have been playing tired baseball as I watched them play mediocre ball through Kansas, Baltimore and now Texas. I like Kelvim he's one of top starter for Angels, but he fell apart in his last start and Ballpark at Arlington has always given him trouble. Tejeda has been a costly proposition but he does fair OK against the Halos.

Coming off a disappointing night but that's the nature of the beast. Crunch the games right and after the long haul you should be in the plus and I say should because it doesn't hurt to have some luck too.

Minny at Bronx with two groundballers taking the mound, Wang and Silva, Yanks look to regain their footing. Wang is NY's best starter he had the ND rain out game in Baltimore and ND Yanks loss to Giants, but now he's back in Bronx where he last beat the Mets 6 hits 2 runs over 8 innings getting everything in the ground. Silva has been showing flashes of his sinker ball talent and it's ever more evident after coming off a mediocre outing.

July baseball sizzles on. What's on my menu today? The blue plate special is Baltimore O's Birds at Chicago White Sox. Baltimore pitcher Erik Bedard comes in 2-0 in last 3 starts with very good 0.70 WHIP and 1.80 ERA bats are coming alive batting .376 against lefties. Looking back O's took the series from failing Yankees and played tight against Major leading Angels. The problem here with the O's for me is that they will finish the first half on the road (16-24) O's top weapon Mora was out at the plate in final game against Angels getting a bruised left foot on that play, Tejada's been out since 6/22 and good as Erik has pitched his team record is 9-8, 4-1 away record also misleading as team has lost 3 out of last 5 away starts. First match up with White Sox after such valiant Baltimore effort against Angels may lead to today's let down spot. I will acknowledge Chicago 15-21 at home but they seem to have turned the tide on the road. White Sox have a bit of a momentum beating KC series and Tampa sweep. Mark Buehrle has been strong and pitching deep. White Sox are 10-5 with Buehrle on the mound and Mark is 4-1 in 7 career start against Orieoles.
